It's a little Hefty, but Charge Lasts Long
I didn't realize that a battery base was available but here it is! It's easy to charge and use. It holds the charge for hours, at least as many as I needed (5). It's heavy because of the batteries and TSA wants it in carry-on due to the lithium batteries, but that's a small inconvenience when you need a decent, flexible Echo Gen 3 for use while traveling.

Charge is useless! Dies overnight with no use
I bought the one with the bigger battery and it is useless. Charge it for nearly 5hours and then go to bed. I only asked Alexa 1 question and never played anything and the next morning the batter is dead.

Not for the Google Home or Nest Mini. Only for the Amazon Echo
This device could work on the Google Home or the Google Nest Mini if the wiring was configured correctly; however, the manufacturer sends the model that is for the Amazon Echo. They may produce one that works on the Google Home or Google Nest Mini, because it only would take a few changes in the configuration of the charging and wiring. That is not the model that Amazon is shipping out at this time, so therefore do not order this item at all for the Google Home Mini and the Google Mini Nest. I did, and now I am stuck with four of them, because I originally ordered two. When I reached out to Amazon customer support, they said they will give me an alternative, and they did not; they just sent me another two. Now I'm stuck with four of these things that I have no use for. Fortunately, I did not pay for them; Amazon refunded me all my money, but I got four of these things that I will never need. I'm not going to become a wiring electrician and reconfigure these to work for my devices.

Better than the old stand the new guard on it holds speaker in place . I like it for listening to tunes on my deck nice and portable

Doesn’t hold charge.
Doesn’t gold a charge like they described. Not worth it. I charged fully, and put music about 2 hrs and then just leave on stand by no music and 3 hrs later it is dead.
