Is this suitable for 10 litres of paint to stir

It is more than adequate in length to deal with a standard 5L tin. I’d assume that the depth of a 10L tin is similar but has a larger diameter so this should be ideal.

Do I have to use this or can I just a stick or an old screwdriver, come to think of it the screwdriver is better as I can open the tine with it also

That is what I thought, use a screw driver or stick it will be ok, No don’t do it, because my paint was not mixed correctly I ended up having to paint my stairs 3 times, so buy this paint stirrer it will save you time and money.
