Better than the average Chinese paper lantern. Is a more plastic material rather than paper. Gold trim is a sticker, but put on very well. The metal top and bottom rings needed a small straightening as well as the metal frame that goes inside to hold it open, easy peasy. Overall it looks great and is well worth the money.
