What size basin waste backnut does this fit please? will this fit a standard bsp "one and a quarter inch" waste hex backnut (brass or plastic)?

This wrench fits one end 45mm the other end 50mm waste a wonderful tool only let down by not supplying a bar to turn it but this be easily done with a piece of rod or screwdriver

The image is a hexagonal box spanner. Real basin waste nuts are octagonal. Is the image simply generic or is this the wrong product for octogon nuts?

I can confirm that it is a hexagonal box spanner. I think some plastic backnuts are octagonal - although not all - and also some are 47mm and are too big for this spanner. If you buy a brass backnut it should fit and they are stronger than the plastic versions.

The brass backnut on my basin waste is 45mm acroos the flats and I want to know if this basin wrench/box spanner is the correct size. Please advise
