Great book
Very interesting book! The 1st book I've ever read that you don't read in order lol A lot of the concepts over lap in chapters but it makes sense. I gave up caffeine and started meditating. Very positive stuff here. My sleep is better.

Book Great, Test Ok
I thought the first 20 pages of the book was stellar! It's getting you set up for what's to come and a really good explanation of emotional intelligence. The explanation of what you would learn and how to use the book was exceptional. I had high hopes. Then I took the test. It fell flat. It took no time to take and I don't feel it was a very deep assessment. Maybe I am biased because I recently took Clifton Strengths (totally different assessment, measuring different things) with my team at work and I felt that assessment was a much deeper dive. I think there is still a lot to be learned. If you picked up this book and have lived a few decades in your own skin you probably know some things about yourself anyway. I pre-ordered this book because I wanted to read it first. We are going to do a family book club with it.

Highly recommend
10/10 recommend. My work had this on a resource list and I bought it thinking it would be another cover to cover leadership book. Iโm so happy I was wrong. After taking the assessment and reading the first two chapters I have picked different chapters each week to focus on. I love the idea of having this as a lifelong book to refer back to as needed. Each chapter is relatable and practical for how to improve areas of EI.

EVERYONE should have a copy of this book. The information is invaluable-it is a must.
I love this book, it is easy to read and understand and I use it like a "map for navigating through daily life." I don't have room for a lot of books and I choose my purchases carefully, but this is part of my small "must-have" book collection and I gave it to all of the important people in my life. I plan on giving it to a few more this holiday season. It gives you practical common sense type of info but it also gives you what you need to maneuver in these times. My parents did their best to teach me wisely and some of the information or lessons in this book reminds me of their loving guidance. This is one of the books that will have relevant information for generations and will go from family member to family member. The author is also very available and answered a question for me quickly when I reached out. If you are on the fence, go for it.

If you have already read extensively on the subject, this book may not offer any new insights. In my opinion, it tends to be somewhat superficial, listing numerous habits and behaviours that one should adopt without delving into the specifics of how to achieve them

Okay, not great
I really wanted to love this book. It just wasnโt super helpful in a practical sense, interesting reading though. Learnt more from LinkedIn training courses on effective communication etc. than strategies from the book. Recommend checking out Melanie Whitney, her training is brilliant and will definitely improve your EI
