Kuhn Rikon Pastry Decorating Set

I have only used this two or three times, as yet, so I'm still finding out what it is best for. I wanted to decorate a cake with buttercream icing around the top, so I filled the clinder, only to find that I could not push it through the nozzle, even though it was a large nozzle. I had to reduce it to about one third full, only, and even then it was hard work. The trouble is, the rod is long and narrow, so cannot take too much pressure, and could snap. It is quite good for cream, though, but again, no more than half full. I found it good for making big swirls on top of cup cakes. Not sure about royal icing yet.Even so, for a soft creamy substance, it is good, as long as you bear in mind it is only plastic, so not as strong as a metal one would be. For the price, though, quite a good buy.

As an absolute novice to cake decoration, this is an excellent starting place. The kit itself doesn't feel that sturdy, but I don't use it too often.

better the nozzles and use them in a piping bag...

First class for what I bought it for, putting whirl shaped mash on the plate,made me look like a Michelin 5 star chef!!

Great set for my cup cakes. The icing tube is great due to its extra large size so refilling is down to a minimum. A*
