I have been using this brand for years even when I was not living in UK.

This is a very good ceramic filter with straightforward installation. Arrived perfectly sealed and I noticed that the water flavour has improved since adding this filter under the sink. I feel it is safer to drink water from the tap now and I have less limescale in the kettle. It seems durable and high quality, so I am very pleased to have tested this useful product.

For that you need the British Berkefeld Ultra Sterasyl (8674) with the black top. It is also made by Doulton, and it has a different thread to this one. ********************* In my humble opinion, Doulton manufacture the best water filters available. They've been doing so here in Great Britain for other two hundred years. Modern Doulton filters make use of a super-fine microporous ceramic white outer, with carbon and other specialised filter media inside them. This gold topped Biotech Ultra filter candle is designed to screw into the new Doulton HIP range of under-counter filter housings (single, double and triple filter housing options are all available) They are intended for point-of-use filtration of drinking water, and they work to an extremely high standard. I use this system and the filters that come with it, and I highly recommend them, this filter included. Instead of being cloudy and tasting like a swimming pool, your drinking water becomes crystal clear and absolutely delicious. After a while, when your taste buds have recovered from being doused in chlorine, you will become aware of just how foul unfiltered tap water actually tastes in comparison. I haven't tried these new filters yet but very annoyingly the threads at the bottom of the candle appear to be thinner than any of the other filters and all the wing nuts I have ( which fit on all prior filters) don't fit on it!
