Top notch products and customer service
The product itself looks and feels to be of superior quality and the packaging is cute, functional, and comes with some handy extras like feminine wipes and lubricant to help with inserting the disc. I ordered these discs in hopes of spending less money (my period is heavy and lasts 8 days, so I go through a lot of tampons) and reducing my impact on the environment. I went with the discs over the cups because I had tried disposable cups from another brand some 15 years ago and I could just not figure out how to get it inserted correctly. Then again, that company didn't have multiple instructional videos like Pixie does on proper application. Anyway, I bought the discs (and the applicator, separately). I was able to to get it inserted first try, and I'm fairly certain it was inserted completely and correctly, and it was comfortable! I thought all was well until I experienced "dumping" which may have only been a small release of the contents of the disc, and it may have only happened while I was otherwise relieving myself, but with my super heavy flow and prior experiences bleeding through whatever menstrual product I was wearing, I was a little too paranoid about leaking that I have decided this product is probably not for me. I want it to be known I didn't actually leak (other than a few drops after using the toilet) in the few days I tried out the disc, but the anxiety around the possibility of leaking was too much. Why did I give the product 5 stars? Well, first of all, it's a great product, and seems to work out for plenty of other people. Just not for me. More importantly though, is because of Pixies customer service. I reached out to them hoping they might have some way to help with my situation, as I had spent a decent amount of money on the few Pixie items I felt I needed to start my reusable period product journey (The money spent however pales in comparison to the money I've spent on tampons alone over the course of half a year). Pixie responded - so swiftly - letting me know they'd have a set of cups sent to me to try within the next few days. Free of charge and no questions asked. I'd done research before buying the discs. I vaguely remember reading something in a review about "dumping". I'd researched the cups and saw there were instructional videos available that didn't exist 15 years ago. All those things told me to buy the cups and despite all that I went for the discs. But this company clearly values their mission over profits and for that, I can't recommend them enough.

Less crampy, less usage on tampons + pads
I was looking into alternative options because I hate spending so much $$ every month for my period needs. I have really bad heavy flow and sometimes wearing super tampons with thick pad I’ll still leak. I have strong cramps that I take 400-800mg Advils and heating pads for. I used menstrual discs for the first time ever and let me tell you Pros: It’s super easy to insert. It’s like inserting a tampon, but hurts less since it’s not as dry/absorbing. I can wear this for 12 hours and I don’t leak (if inserted properly)?? Very unusual for me, especially on those heavy days. It’s comfortable and I forget I have it in. It’s easy to wash. I have a mini pixie steamer to disinfect this when I’m done using it. I noticed that I cramped way less and I didn’t have to take Advils for it, which is freaking awesome. Con’s: Since it’s my first time, I think I didn’t insert it correctly twice out of the four days I used this which cause me to leak. I had to continue wearing liners while using. I strongly recommend watching videos on how to place this correctly to understand what you’re doing. It’s messy when taking it out, so be prepared for that.

Exceptional Customer Service
Although it didnt work for my anatomy, the Pixie team was incredibly helpful throughout the process of trying to figure it out. They were extremely responsive and kind. The packaging and quality of material was also very good. Sad it didn’t work for me!

I LOVE THIS!
I bought this a while back, and honestly, I didn't have the motivation to write a review about how good it is until now. This was my very first time using a disc, and I was nervous at first when I purchased it. But the research I did beforehand reassured me, and I'm so glad I went through with it. When it arrived, it came with clear, beginner-friendly directions that were surprisingly thoughtful. I really appreciated that. After sterilizing it, I decided to start with the medium size, and to my surprise, I didn't feel anything at all. It's as if it's not even there. I no longer feel blood leaking on my inner walls like I did with pads and tampons (which always gave me that gross, uncomfortable feeling). The design really does feel like a little cereal bowl that just sits there and catches everything perfectly. Overall, I absolutely love this disc and the company behind it! You've honestly made my periods so much less stressful. I hate them so much, but this has been a game changer. You're even the reason I decided to get off birth control because I finally had an alternative that worked. 😭😭 In my opinion, to the person reading this, you shouldn't put too much thought into the negative reviews about how it "feels" for them. Everyone's anatomy and comfort level are different, so those kinds of reviews are subjective. What worked (or didn't work) for someone else might not be your experience. If you're curious, do your research, follow the instructions, and give it a fair try. It might just change your period life like it did mine. But, thank you Pixie Cup! I'll definitely be buying more stuff from you guys! ❤❤❤

Iffy
I’ll start by saying that the pixie disc doesn’t self-empty while you’re using the restroom. Since it doesn’t self-empty, it was messy to take out. I was also a pixie cup user, so I decided to try the disc. I found that the cup held more, but the disc was easier to take out and hurts less.. it is definitely leak free so that’s a plus.

Learning curve is totally worth it!
It is a learning curve, but after almost a year and a half, I can definitely say I prefer using this over tampons. Just knowing what’s in them is worth trying. I definitely experience more leaks, but again it’s all about learning. It’s easy to put in, definitely easy in the shower like some people have said here! I don’t know how people cut off the tip and are able to find it, but that’s the only thing I ever find uncomfortable. If that is not where it’s supposed to be for me it’s very uncomfortable. Otherwise it’s just like a tampon and doesn’t even feel like it’s there. Knowing I’m not putting toxins in my body is definitely worth learning how to use this!!

NOT good for heavy days
I wanted to love this product. I was really excited about all the potential benefits. Sadly, it falls short. I've used it for 4 cycles so I could get a good sense of what I like and what I don't. PROS: 1. Cost. Definitely a money saver. 2. Comfortable. I don't notice it at all when it's in. 3. Environmentally friendly 4. Insertion is easy once you get the hang of it 5. Easy to clean and disinfect in a sink 6. Might help a little with cramps? Not totally sure. CONS: 1. Leaks. A lot. I would never NEVER wear this without period underwear. Sometimes I have to use it with a pad and period underwear. Totally negates the point. 2. You can't tell when it's 'full'. So you either have to check periodically, or wait until it leaks. Once you take it out to check, you have to do the whole process of cleaning, etc. again even if it wasn't full. 3. Definitely does NOT hold 6 tampons worth. Maybe 6 super light tampons? There are days when I have to empty and clean this thing every 45 minutes. 4. Messy. Like really really REALLY messy. You empty it into the toilet, but then you have to get it to the sink to clean it while it's covered in sticky drippy stuff. 5. This would never work in a bathroom with community sinks - offices, airports, schools, grocery stores, or any place you stand next to someone while you wash your hands. Maybe someone has figured out a way to clean this thing while in a stall, but the amount of wipes or cleanser you'd need to use would negate the no trash and low cost benefit. And...I have no idea how I'd get it clean enough without running water. 6. There's a high ick factor. You need to be OK having blood on your hands (again, hard with a community sink). Putting it in is messy. Taking it out is messy. You have to be really familiar and comfortable with your body. 7. Cleaning this thing is a process. Definitely takes a lot more time than changing a tampon. Especially during heavy days or days I'm at work, I'm going to have to stick with tampons. I just don't trust this thing to do the job. I do like it at night and for the light days at the beginning/end.

I wanted to like it
I really wanted to like this item and use it. Ive tried different placements and I can feel it, and the string is stiff as well. You dont know when it is full. And there are 4 tiny, pin size holes in the rim that, you guessed it, blood and other junk gets into! I spent like ten minutes rinsing and washing it in my sink trying to get it out!!!! Its good in theory and I liked the sustainability factor, but it didnt work for me. I am fortunate to work from home but I dont know how anyone with a public or shared restroom scenarior would be able to dump, rinse, and reinsert this.

Needs getting used to but it works!
I had tried different cups before and the suction part + the fact that on my heaviest days I still need to take them out a few times to empty them, did contribute to my overall dissatisfaction. I have a very heavy flow and on busier days it's just a nightmare. I was sceptical at first but I have a friend who sweared that discs were the best option out there so I gave it a try last month with the pixie applicator. To be honest I am still getting used to them but I can say for sure that the lack of suction, the applicator assisting with the insertion and the fact I don't have to take it out during the day (just bear down, dump the blood and flex my muscles to reposition it) has made it a lot better than the cup experience. Yes, there is a mess sometimes but I just make sure it's above the toilet. I take it out only morning and evening to wash it and I boil it after the cycle ends.

Comfortable, convenient and completely worry-free
I decided to try the 2 Menstrual Pixie Discs (No Metals or TPE) and I’m so glad I did. They’re made from soft, flexible medical-grade silicone, which makes them really comfortable once in place — you honestly forget you’re even wearing one. I especially like that there are no metals or TPE involved, so it feels much safer and more reassuring to use. They’re easy to insert and remove with a bit of practice, and they sit securely without leaks when positioned correctly. I’ve worn them for several hours at a time without any issues. Having two in the pack is really handy as well — one to use while the other is being cleaned or stored. They’re also far more cost-effective and eco-friendly compared to constantly buying disposable products. If you’re considering switching to discs, these are a great, comfortable option that feel high quality and reliable.

They really work!
I have never really got on with tampons and other internal period products, but these are fantastic! They also enabled me to keep swimming during my period which was a little nerve wracking but worked perfectly fine! Honestly I was a little dubious about this product, but they really do exactly as described, and are easy to insert, plus soft and not uncomfortable. Pinch it together, push in at an angle then use your index finger to push it up so it is level (internally) and pull the tab thing to nicely ensure it's sat comfortable. The biggest issue is removing it really, it is a messy job, there's just no other way to do it, but I find doing it in the shower helps minimise clean up! It does empty itself when you go to the toilet, and especially in summer you do feel fresher. Anyone who's a little nervous, I think this a great product to try out!
