(Pack Of 2) Replacement Volute Springs For Secateurs and hand tools (50mm)

Glad I found these, as I would have had to buy a new secateur, easy to fit and work really well.

Good quality springs. Pity they didn't quite fit the secateurs I wanted to repair.

Thesse have rescued a pair of garden secateurs that had lost their springs. I now have two workable ones. Easy to fit and good value for money.

Well made, sturdy & works well. But... having spent time carefully measuring my handles I was disappointed that the bore diameter of the springs that arrived was only 5-6mm at best. I needed the 8mm as advertised. After a fair bit of negotiation & wearing down of the plastic nubbins the spring sits on them sufficiently to allow the handle lock to work but the spring pops out easily if I catch it on a branch or finger (which is how I lost the original one!) The spring length is as advertised, it’s just the bore diameter that is smaller than it should be.

Perfect replacement for a broken spring. Keeps my favourite Wilkinson secateurs going for a few more years

I wanted these for a set of Wolf secateurs and they fitted perfectly. A little bit stronger than the one I lost but do an excellent job.

I bought this item to repair my much loved Freunde 1749 secateurs. As many reviewers have noted, the internal diameter of the spring is less than stated. However, I have not been able to find a spring that fits over the existing ca 8mm lugs on the secateurs. This is what I did: I sawed off the existing lugs on the secateurs. On the Freunde model, the handles are light metal so this is easy with a hacksaw. I then drilled a hole and inserted a self-tapping screw. The handle is sufficiently chunky to drill reasonably deep. Then, saw off the heads of the screws and you have two narrower diameter lugs that will accept the volute spring. Seems robust so far.
