I've worked night shift on and off throughout my career, and I'm currently on again. This time around, I've been sleeping terribly. I figured it was time to give a sleep mask a try. I was initially skeptical about the Manta Pro simply from a cost standpoint. The price seemed a bit steep compared to the plethora of options, but I looked at this as an investment. Buy once, cry once, right? I'm glad I did. I've been using this for about a week now, and I'm sleeping better than I did before. It took a few times test fitting the eye cups so that I didn't get any light peeking through, but once I dialed it in, it works great. The mask is super breathable. I sleep with a fan on and can feel a little bit of air going through the mask, yet it truly is 100% blackout. I've found that it stays in position and doesn't slide around when I move. I'm strictly a side sleeper, and this mask is super comfortable. My quality of sleep has dramatically improved, even on the days where my body says "it's time to get up" after only 3 or 4 hours. I'm not waking up multiple times a night. I feel more rested when I do wake up. I'm falling asleep faster than before, and (usually) sleeping for longer. I think this is a great option for anyone looking for a sleep mask, but especially for anyone who works night shift. Do yourself a favor and get one. The benefits certainly outweigh the cost!

I’ve tried quite a few sleep masks over the years, and the Manta Pro is the first one I’ve used that doesn't crush down into your eyes. Because the eye cups are contoured and hollowed out, there is absolutely zero pressure on your eyelids or eyelashes. You can open your eyes fully inside the mask, which is a game-changer for comfort. As a side sleeper, this mask is incredible. The side padding is tapered and made of breathable, low-profile materials, so it doesn't push the mask out of place or dig into your temples when your head hits the pillow. It stays securely positioned all night while keeping out 100% of the light. It is incredibly comfortable, breathable, and truly designed with side sleepers in mind. Absolutely worth every penny!

I've used this mask a few times so far and my initial thoughts are mostly positive. The eye cups and head strap are very comfortable compared to other similar-styled masks, and the strap going above the ears instead of on or below them is exactly what I was looking for. The breathability is second to none. I sleep with a low-power fan on and this mask allows my eyes to feel the breeze from said fan which is impressive. The materials used are also very effective at blocking light, unlike most cheaper masks that, even with a perfect seal, allow light through the front of the mask in intensely lit areas. That all being said, I do have some not-quite-positive feedback. The eye cups' adjustability, despite being "infinitely adjustable" is very difficult to dail in. It is very difficult to make fine adjustments because the cups adhere to the mask using a very small amount of velcro. This means there's no real way to adjust the cups' positions without completely removing the cups and placing them back on the mask which I found was very difficult to do while maintaining the same relative position and rotation of where the cup was last adhered. It is also difficult to get an equal-distant spacing from the middle of the mask on each cup. It takes a lot of time and tedium to get the adjustment just right. Thankfully once you find the perfect fit, you don't have to deal with the adjustments again. There is also the issue with the cups not making a complete seal. In my experience, it doesn't provide 100% blackout while lying on the side of my head. There is always a sliver of light finding its way in around the bridge of my nose and no amount of adjusting the cups or fiddling with mask tightness seems to fix that issue. It is possible to get a complete blackout while lying on your side, but a slight movement breaks the seal again. This is however only a minor inconvenience as this mask, with the combination of simply closing your eyes, provides a complete blackout in even intensely lit areas. Changes/improvements I'd like to see made to this product include: -offering aftermarket eye cups that are perhaps a bit bigger or have thicker cushions to help people whose eyes are sunk in a bit more than most (such as myself) get a better seal. -the addition of high contrast line guides (printed or stitched) on the portion of the mask the eye cups are meant to adhere to. This would offer a frame of reference for previous positions while also offering an easier way to achieve consistent spacing on both the X and Y axes between each cup and the middle of the mask. Overall this mask is not perfect, but it is still the best sleep mask I've tried. I'm very particular about what I look for in a sleep mask and this is the mask that has come the closest to ticking all the boxes by far. I would say this is worth the purchase if you're also someone who struggles to sleep in anything other than pitched black. If you're someone who can handle a little bit of light while sleeping, there are cheaper, similar options out there that would likely do the job for you just fine. If I could give this product a 4.5 star rating, I would. Some side notes, the inclusion of earplugs as an accessory feels unnecessary but the cleaning bag is a very cool inclusion. The mask being machine washable without ruining your adjustments thanks to the bag is very handy. I will update this review in a few months after I've put some wear into the mask for better or worse.

I'm not really sure it's worth the hype that these masks get, and im not sure if i plan to keep it. I've never been able to get used to sleep masks before because they all apply some kind of pressure somewhere on my face, even slight, that makes me wake up with a raging headache, nose ache, eye ache, etc. The manta mask definitely has deep enough eye cups that it doesn't put any pressure on your eyes, and the adjustable velcro strap is better than the usual elastic strap. So far I haven't gotten a headache from the hug of the strap. However, I'm on the fence about the eye cups. The foam of the cups is stiff. It's like wearing hard goggles at night even if you position the mask just tightly enough to barely stay on. So even though the pressure is off the eyes themselves, it's being redirected to your brow bone and your cheekbones by the foam cups. Additionally, the first couple nights, I did get a pretty significant nose ache from the mask because on my head, the foam cups just sit stiffly against the bridge of my nose. They weren't designed to move comfortably around the contours of the nose so they just pinch it. I got these because I am a side sleeper, but I can't sleep on my side comfortably in this mask. Even though the foam eye cups narrow down at the temples, you still have the rest of the eye cup digging into your cheek, brow, and nose from the pressure of being on your side. I tried side sleeping with a bunch of different head angles but ended up on my back anyway with a sore face. My last comment is about the price. I am not sure I understand what makes this mask almost $90 just for the "advantage" of a side sleeper friendly design that's really not very friendly at all in my experience. This mask is slimmer and uses less material for the eye cups, and yet it costs almost $50 more than the regular, basic manta mask. It kind of makes this side sleeper feel taken advantage of. Rather than paying the big money for a more bougie fabric like silk or a significantly more complex and technical design, I have to pay the big money simply because I'm not a back sleeper. :/ Like sleeping on your side is some kind of bougie decision.

Review written after nightly use for seven months of continuous use. Can’t say more than it already well established in the reviews. However, will add my comments that this is by for the best sleep mask I have ever used: highest quality, best fit (easy to change), no issues. Have no issues with heat retention. As for being stretchy, it is not; however, that is a feature and not a bug: you want a mask that will keep its diameter and not compress your head (like cheap masks). If you wake up at night, you will find yourself doing some minor readjusting to move it higher on your head (it will naturally migrate down while you sleep). There is some rubberized lines that increase friction against your hair/scalp to keep it in place, but if you toss and turn like myself, it will move over time. But it migrating a bit does not detract from its effectiveness - it is just an issue with having a more snug feel on your head. While the high cost is very steep in a market filled with cheap (and cheaply made) products, I still recommend that the price is worth the product. Only note is that you need to wash the detachable eye covers every few weeks. It is easy to forget that your body oils will saturate the cloth over time and it will start to irritate your skin, which is your strong reminder that you should wash your mask. Just throw them in the sink with warm water and dish soap, wash/wring them by hand, rinse, and let them dry - good as new!

I bought the Manta Pro Sleep Mask just over a year ago for my spouse. While it initially lived up to expectations, providing excellent blackout and comfort for side sleeping, its long-term durability has been underwhelming, especially for something at this price point. The good: this mask is genuinely comfortable. It blocks out all ambient light, the eye cups sit nicely without pressure, and the breathable material stays cool through the night. For the first few months, it was everything we hoped for. I found myself almost wanting to get one myself. But here’s the issue: with nightly use and weekly hand washing (which is basic hygiene for something that rests on your eyes), the Velcro on the eye cups has started peeling off. One side has completely detached, which effectively rendered it unusable. What's especially disappointing is that I am currently using Manta's regular sleep mask, and it held up longer under the same conditions. You'd think the "Pro" version would be more durable, not less. And here's the kicker: there's a gray market version of this exact mask being sold elsewhere for a fraction of the price. Same concept, way cheaper. So what exactly are we paying Manta a premium for? Because it's clearly not longer-lasting materials. Pros: ✔ Excellent light blocking ✔ Comfortable for side sleepers ✔ Breathable and soft materials Cons: ✘ Velcro degraded and detached within a year ✘ Not durable for routine cleaning ✘ High price for the longevity If this were a $30 product, maybe I'd chalk it up as a fluke. But for the price it's going for right now ($85+), I expected quality that lasts, and Manta didn't deliver. You would be better off paying half the price for the regular sleep mask. Please Manta, do better.

I use this with a CPAP (nose pillows), and I love it. It is comfortable and stays on throughout the night. Highly recommended. I sleep so well, so soundly, so undisturbed now with this mask, I'm not sure I ever slept before. It _is_ expensive. No way around that. It's the reason I docked it one star. Is it really $50 better than the previous model? I don't know, I never had the previous model. Is it FAIR to dock it a star because it's expensive? Apparently, I think so, since that's what I'm doing. And yet ...the price is the ONLY qualm I have/ had about this product. Everything else is EXACTLY as promised; it performs 100% as advertised. Which you really can't say about much else in these gloomy days of the Enshi*tification of Everything.

Seems to be some mixed opinions on this product. The only real “con” is the price. Even on sale, it is an investment. What I wished I knew early: - take some time before you go to bed to adjust the eye pieces. It will take a few shots to get it right. - if you are a side sleeper, focus on moving the eye pieces in a way that they do not press up against your head. - wear the strap high on your head, not like wearing a pair of glasses. It rubbed against my ears and they were raw in the morning. Positives: - if you fit and wear it properly, no light gets in ..: like none. - it takes a couple of nights, but you’ll forget you are wearing it quickly - it is well made … soft materials, good Velcro In general, I would say most people should buy it. Is the material and build make it worth the money? Heck no … but you will sleep better and what make it a good buy.

Ich schlafe auf dem Rücken, meine Partnerin auf der Seite – für uns beide sitzt die Maske absolut zuverlässig, ohne zu verrutschen. Die individuell einstellbaren Augenmuscheln erfordern etwas Feingefühl, aber wenn sie einmal richtig positioniert sind, passt alles perfekt. Die Maske ist extrem leicht, sehr bequem und blockiert das Licht zu 100 % ab. Auch im Sommer hatten wir keinerlei Hitzestau oder unangenehmes Schwitzen. Das Material fühlt sich hochwertig an und wirkt langlebig. Im direkten Vergleich zu unseren bisherigen Modellen spielt sie in einer völlig anderen Liga. Der Preis ist hoch, aber aus unserer Sicht gerechtfertigt – man kauft hier etwas, das man nicht ständig ersetzen muss. Wir haben jeweils ein eigenes Modell bestellt und würden sie ohne Einschränkungen weiterempfehlen. Fazit: Hervorragende Qualität, top Komfort und absolut zuverlässiger Sitz. Klare Empfehlung.
