Works great, could be perfect with one change
The price might be a little high but this tool is absolutely worth it and I would definitely buy it again. Donโt listen to the people saying it doesnโt work and wonโt grab the seal. They have no idea what theyโre talking about and have even less understanding of basic mechanics. I was able to EASILY pull 2 seals using only a box end wrench and light pressure on the top of the tool. It bites into the seal with no issue and is sharp to the touch. My one complaint is that the tool to drive the new seal in is very tight on the shift shaft, borderline unusable like some others mentioned. I tapped it on and used it but it would be a lot better if the inside diameter was a little larger.

Did not work on a 47RE trans
Both tools did not even fit without filing down burrs and rough machining marks. The remover tool thread was not large enough diameter to grab the metal part of the seal so it just destroyed the rubber part of the seal. I ended up using a stainless NPT to CPVC adapter and that actually worked. The installation tool did not fit the shaft, it looked like the cutting tool had broken the surface finish was so bad. I do not recommend.

Works perfectly if you know how to use it
Changed the seal in my TF727 in under an hour. The key to using this tool is getting the removal tool to bite the old seal. There are three ways to do this. If you have room, you can tap the tool with a hammer to get it started, then thread it in the rest of the way. 2, you can use a C clamp to press the tool into the seal while turning the tool with a wrench, or 3 use a pry bar to add downward pressure on the tool while turning it with a wrench. If you can not get a hammer in there to tap the new seal in, a C clamp or ball joint press can be used to press the tool and seal into place. If the transmission is out of the vehicle, this whole process is supper simple, but using the methods I mentioned, it can be done without removing the transmission. Great tool!

Overpriced trash
I'm not sure what I'm more impressed by, the terrible quality, or the ridiculous price for something so poorly made. Oh, it doesn't even work. It will absolutely not grab onto the seal.

Tool does not work!
As others have noted, the tool would not engage with the steel portion of the seal. While I was able to apply pressure and get the tool to drive completely into the seal to the point that the threads on the tool weren't visible, it was not biting into the steel ring of the seal sufficiently to remove it from the transmission casing. After several attempts, I gave up and used two flat screwdrivers to work the seal up and out of the transmission case. Given the cost of the tool coupled with its ineffectiveness, I would not recommend the purchase.

This tool works great when used with a C-clamp
As recommended elsewhere, for cbodies only dot com, under 727-how to shift lever seal replacement. I used a C-clamp to exert downward pressure to be able to thread the puller into the seal. The puller does not thread in on its own. Once threaded, it pulled the seal without any problems. I used the C-clamp on top of the installer to press the seal into place. I made sure to use a piece of plywood to protect the transmission oil pan from damage from the C-clamp.

Great tool for the job. WORKED GREAT!
This worked GREAT! Totally did the job. My husband was impressed with how well it worked to remove and install the seal. He now has it in his tools.

This tool needed modification to work.
The removal tool is supposed to slide over the shift shaft to facilitate the removal of the seal. The inside diameter was too small. I had to enlarge the inside diameter by a few thousandths for it to slide on without using excessive force. After the modification, the tool worked very well! If you have to do this job just once, it is worth it. The installation tool worked well without modification. It is designed to install the seal square in the housing, and at the right depth. My vehicle has an access panel on the transmission hump, so it was relatively easy to do the job without removing the transmission or pulling the pan.
