Review: Is it as good as the same type available many years ago - simple but effective - This recorder is much the same as the one I used 40 years ago BUT the sound quality is rubbish, the recording capability is reasonable, the functionality (terrible word) is ok, the sound playback is like sitting in the middle of a four lane motorway on a Friday home day in Los Angeles. Extremely poor recording and playback capability . Really annoyed, as I prefer cassettes to tape all my love letters on . DO NOT BUT THIS ARTICLE.

A: Only an power USB cable, you have to plug into a USB port.

**Q: Does this show timings visually of how far tape has run**
A: No, it does not have a timer on the cassette player. Also, the audio quality has a high treble and if you did record, you have a high omni-directional surface noise. The best feature is with the memory stick USB Port where you can listen to the audio material through the cassette player.

**Q: Does the tape record in stereo or mono**
A: The audio cassette recorder records in mono.

**Q: Another cassette recorder at home ate a cassette, would this happen to this product?**
A: Mine doesn't have this problem. In my experience eating tape is usually because it's not seated properly and the head will misalign and grab the tape. Also, aging, wear and thinning of the tape can cause this to happen.
