OXO Good Grips Flexible Turner

Not for use with non-stick unless you are very careful, but for omelettes, burgers, steaks, pancakes these Oxo turners are the best. Have both the medium and the large.

Pros: Great to slide in underneath things in the pan to flip with ease. Cons: Does not work when things stuck on the pan.

I needed a flexible spatula to use with my cast iron frying pan. The silicon spatula worked well being flat but was a bit thick and finally discarded because it was clearly effected by the high temperature and shedding bits and chemicals. All the Oxo items I have have been excellent and this was no exception. However, two things made it less than ideal. Firstly it’s not flat as it’s slightly concave and secondly it’s not flexible enough to get down the upstanding edge of the pan to reach the edge of the flat surface. So for example it is difficult to get cleanly the edge under a pancake. This would be more useful as a flipper with a flat griddle or crepe pan or for smaller items in a larger pan.

I had one of these for at least eighteen years. Somebody broke it using it to force open a door they were locked out of (don't ask!) and I was so upset. It is the ultimate turner because it is so thin and bendy. Excellent for making fried eggs because even if the edges are frizzley and stuck to the pan, this implement will be able to easily get under it without damaging the egg. So I HAD to obtain another and luckily they still make them. I have been looking everywhere and have never managed to locate one from a business in UK and I was delighted to find one on Amazon. I had already bought a different replacement but missed my Oxo turner so much! Finally I have my new one and it is the most perfect turner ever.I bought three for my daughters too. And yes, good grips is an accurate description as it is made of material which is very easy to keep hold of and manipulate. Fantastic for making very thin crepe pancakes too! But my one big criticism is that the handle is made of something which melts easily compared with my original one. So this turner melts if it is left on the edge of the frying pan for even a few seconds. And I never have the heat turned up high. I had the same designed Oxo for years with no problem. I have always left turners for a few seconds while I am waiting for my breakfast to cook and I have had several different ones during my lifetime. I have never had one so unresistant to heat. Inferior materials to the original ones!!!!Consequently my turner has melted lines all down the handle now. It melts to the frying pan edge within seconds. This is a bad failing and unreasonably unresistent to heat. This is why I am marking it down

Quite pricey else nicely thin large slice. If use with non-stick pan need to be really careful. I could think more before buying this as most of our pans are non stick.

Larger than expected but does the job!

It's has a very sharp edge an if your not slow it will slice right through the York of the egg. I should be more blunt the flexibility is great

My favourite flipper for eggs and fish. Feels gentle on the pan and easily slips under soft eggs. After a few years my first one failed at the spot welds, but I really used it a lot. They’re not a lifetime heirloom tool, but it’s a working tool. Recommended

I love how flexible this spatula is and can scrape the pan as well. You just have to be careful because the spatula can separate from the handle at the spot weld points. They are easy to clean and you do not get melted plastic in your food or the spatula becomes degraded from high heat like other plastic spatulas. The thinness makes flipping eggs over easy and pancakes a breeze. The quality of OXO is great ( I am probably just a little too rough with ours).

Es una espátula muy manejable. Al ser flexible que adapta muy bien a bastantes alimentos para darle la vuelta en la sartén.

Ich habe die Edelstahlversion im Einsatz, weil mir Spiegeleier trotz beschichteten Pfannen und/oder ausreichend Fett immer wieder am Boden "festkleben". Der Wender von OXO ist dünn und flexibel genug um ihn unter die Eier zu schieben und groß genug, um Spiegeleier unversehrt auf den Teller zu bekommen. Da für mich eine Pfanne keine Anschaffung fürs Leben ist, verwende ich das Stahlteil auch in Teflonpfannen.
