Can I use this smartwatch to take calls, speak through the watch like the versa 4?

Yes, with the condition that the watch has an active Bluetooth, the Bluetooth connection is set for the watch to take calls, and the Bluetooth connection is stable while the connected phone is within proximity of the watch. Otherwise, the watch may swap to Wi-Fi connection, so one could receive notifications from the phone on the watch but not be able to speak through it.

What voltage / amperage charging plug should I use? I can't see this mentioned anywhere in the documentation.

It comes with a magnetic charger with a USB A connection at one end (so 5V) - plug it into any USB charging device. It's fast charging, can accept more current to charge quickly, so at least 2.4A or better for best results.

Does Google maps work even when the watch isn't connected to a smart phone ?

Hi no when not connected to phone . It does not work with the wi-fi. But if you go on LTE then everything works all the time. But you need to pay for that. Don't no how much.
