Magna-flip Clip on Flip up Magnifiers, +5.00 Power Converts Distance Glasses and Into Reading and Computer Glasses

I AM DOING WORK ON SMALL CLASSIC IPODS AND IT REQUIRES BETTER VISION THAN I HAVE, THEY WORK. EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE A LITTLE HEAVY.

I Was very disappointed that these magnifying lenses didn't work for me. Much heavier than expected. I have always had thicker eye glasses lenses than most since I was about 10. Yep visually impaired. So could just be my prescription. That being said doesn't mean they won't work for you as everyone is different. For me they did work somewhat at close range about within 10 inches but thats not why I purchased them. Was wanting to bring things closer to me when I worked on PC's, laptops etc. They don't feel cheap in any way but they do have some weight to them just so you know. I gave them 3 stars because of the weight. So my search for tools to help me see better to do my work continues. I don't see this as a failure but as something that didn't work for me.

Would be great if they weren't so heavy. Falls of your face if you lean forward making it difficult to complete the job.

The manufacturer tried to make a good product, and I do like them. They do have some issues though. The lenses are much thicker than necessary, making them add more weight to your glasses than necessary. I bought them for close-up viewing of my camera's LCD display, and it works great for that, but they get way too heavy to wear for long. I strongly recommend visor-type magnifiers for extended use. The part of these magnifiers that contacts the rear side of your prescription or sunglass lens is well padded. HOWEVER, the part that contacts the front side of your lens is made of molded hard plastic, and has mold burrs at the edges protruding towards the front side of your prescription or sunglass lens. At least one other reviewer missed this fact. I sanded these burred edges with fine sandpaper, making sure to clean off any residual abrasive that may have come off the sandpaper. I also put heat-shrink tubing over these, figuring it would probably be softer than the hard molded plastic. So far, no problems with scratching my prescription lenses. I never tried it with the bare, hard molded plastic though.

These are unnecessarily heavy and when you put them on your glasses and look down it just pulls the glasses off your face they are so heavy. In addition the picture that Amazon displays is the normal size. This is not what Amazon is shipping. As you can tell by the pictures I posted, the size they shipped is big enough to cover large aviator glasses. There are other brands on Amazon that are much lighter and smaller. Due to the weight, I cannot recommend these although optically they were fine but thick beyond what’s normal with today’s technology.

Wow these are heavy. Like, flipped up so they're not right in front of my glasses, they pull the glasses right off my face if I look down. They do work though. Pretty good for the money, I'd say.
