Press the Tare button and it goes to Zero. Take off the Peanut Butter and it reads -0.700Kgrams. Tare it out - and it would read Zero. Don't tare and just shut the scale OFF; and when you turn it back on - it reads the LAST measurement it was previously displaying. In this case - negative or -0.700Kgrams. Seems like a fine scale to me. Just got it today; and since it has a 220lb total capacity - it will definitely handle any of my refrigerant needs.
