Is this ice makers countertop easy to use and clean?

It is super easy to use! They tell you to discard the first few sets of cubes if it has not been used in a while since there is no way to clean the innards but the place where the cubes drop when they are made is an easy to clean plastic. The plastic is white so it is very easy to tell if you have it clean or not.

Can the ice scoop be placed directly in the ice basket?I always have a headache where to put the scoop in my other ice maker machine

how do i use the drain hole when I want to empty out water?

You have to put the entire unit in the sink. Open the drain plug on the bottom and let the water drain out. I manually clean the unit and just let it drain for a little while in one side of my sink. Hope this helps. I just love this ice maker!

how much ice can be made at once, in lbs?

I can get a large zip lock bag full in an hr or less. This ice machine is great!!! I should have bought it yrs. Ago
