How does digital night vision work?

The Whisker uses an LED to emit infrared light (IR) invisible to humans. A digital sensor picks up the reflected IR. The image displays on a screen in the viewfinder.

Can I tripod mount my Whisker?

Yes, this will give the best picture for long stable recordings. A tripod mount is especially important for filming or watching small animals like birds or bats at large distances.

What is the difference between optical and digital zoom?

Adjustable optical zoom uses a telescopic lens, so you can zoom right in, without losing picture quality. Other devices typically offer digital zoom which reduces picture quality, or fixed optical zoom which is inflexible and reduces field of view.

Can I use the Nightfox Whisker with glasses?

It is possible to use the Whisker with glasses, but your glasses may prevent you bringing the Whisker very close to your face, like binoculars. The Whisker is designed to also be usable like a digital camera, held further away from the face.
