The entry hole is 9mm. I’m not sure that you will find a trailing socket that will take outdoor cable. You may have to use an outdoor socket and fix it somewhere convenient. I have them at the back for the garden pond and an outdoor socket for power tools, and one fixed at the side of the garage door so that I can charge the car battery.
