After mounting on a post that was dark in color you can hardly read the markings on the water levels who thought that putting black print on a blue background was a good idea. White markings would be so much better. The bracket is well made but the glass tube rattles around in the wind and possibly could get damaged in high winds. Time will tell. Was packed well and arrived quickly.

Excellent gauge that is easy to read, made well and is water resistant.

Very simple and to the point. I bought it so it would fit in a previous holder I already had and if it perfectly. Very happy with my purchase!

Purchased this glass gauge to replace similar plastic gauge that had become discolored and opaque due to exposure to the sun. Installation is easy and it generally works okay but had to ding a star because the blue stripe on the back of the tube that helps you visualize the measurement of rain is misaligned (about 15 degrees) with the number/gradient markings on the front of the tube. It still works but not as well as it would if correctly aligned... as displayed in images on the listing.

I love this rain gauge. I put this on a post in my garden. It's very easy to read and held up well this summer. I put it away in the Fall when the temps got close to freezing. It still looks brand new and the markings are still bright.

It is made of glass with a SS holder and mounted in the garden on a three foot stake (not included) where it gets plenty of sunshine and rain. I wanted a glass one that wouldn't fade like plastic. It will freeze in winter and break if not emptied. The SS holder was a plus so it should not rust. It is large enough where I can read it easily. If needed, I would definitely purchase it again.

This is a hanging glass cylinder. Measures accurately. Freezing precipitation may affect durability.

AS OTHERS HAVE NOTED, MEASURES 40% MORE RAIN THAN REALLY FALLS. OVER THE COURSE OF TWO DAYS RAIN, MY NEIGHBOR HAD 3" IN HIS GAUGE AND THIS ONE SHOWED 4". HORRIBLY INACCURATE! DO NOT BUY!

Made of glass looks great

Not sure about other countries however just received rain gauge today and I confirm its plastic!! If I had of know that I would have purchased a cheaper one elsewhere!!! Some other reviewers may have been lucky and received glass, beware you will most likely get cheap plastic!! SO disappointing!
