It’s not meant for external usage so you’ll have to mount it inside your luggage as intended. I mounted it to the inside cloth surface of several luggage pieces. It adheres very well. Clean, simple, very functional design. Looks like the luggage came with these installed. It is plenty rugged enough. Now if you’re the kind of person that breaks your cell phone every month, if everything you have looks like it took a couple of turns in the washing machine along with some bricks, you’re going to need something more rugged.
