I drilled a hole thru my workbench to mount it. Be prepared to screw it down to something. That said, this is an AWESOME third hand, shuda bought one of these decades ago. I wish it was a standard 1/4-20 mounting hole in the base...I think maybe its 10-32, or metric? I dunno, i had a screw lying around that worked. The Jaw on this thing really clamps down, the first time i used it to hold and solder to a 1/4 guitar cable plug I crushed it..oops. Nice thing is, the arm is very flexible, stays where you put it, and easily bends way out of the way when i dont need it.

I find it to be versatile and sturdy for soldiering and model building. The arms stay in place. The clips rotate 360 degrees and lock in position with a thumb screw. They stay at the angle you want them and don't keep coming loose. I also bought a magnetic light which makes it my work easier to see when you get more light in the right place.

I love the adjustable clamp and the maneuverability of the arm in general. My only qualm about it is that the arm itself is extremely heavy. So heavy that it gravity outweighs the magnetic force of the bottom on almost everything I tried to attach it to. Therefore, it took some situating to find someplace I could place it without its own weight making it disconnect and fall from where I had placed it. Other than that it's a great little helping hand. Will probably look into finding a nice heavy steel base to magnetize it too for more peace of mind.

Pretty decent with only a few minor flaws.... The base is well weighted but not too heavy.. Magnets grip well to hold each accessory in place even with moderate heavy boards being held. The alligator clips aren't cheap flimsy ones. They look like they will last a while and the rubber grip is a nice addition. The adjustable arm and clamp are pretty well built and the clamp is very nice with rolling grips too hold item better however I don't know many heat guns even on soldering stations that will fit this very small clamp. And last, the vise is very small and it's grips have a lot of play and you can't adjust it's angles. Really cheap and actually it's the most disappointing thing otherwise it's a pretty decent setup.

Very useful to do soldering when you need an extra hand to hold your circuit and pretty strong magnets that can be moved around the metal plate as you wish

They tell you the size of every little thing except the most important thing to me and that is the size of the base. FYI it's 7-11 that's seven inches by eleven inches. I also wish they would of included the magnifier light but I ended up using the Ryobi flex light. This is a great product and I am happy with it. The price was a bit of an issue. July 2022 35 dollars

These are to electronics what clamps are to woodworkers! They just make life easier and allow you to put things where you need them, and keep them there until the solder does its job. Absolutely recommend for anyone doing much soldering.
