Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Working Blu-Ray on my HTPC

Bought this for my grandson who is reading Charlie and Chocolate Factory in school. HE LOVED IT! So did I. I've seen it a dozen time and will probably see it again a dozen more. Never get tired of it. Great movie.

Marvelous for children and the young at heart. Fun extra features. For people who are neuro-atypicals like me, a very safe and soothing adventure with wonderful message. Lack of diversity in the cast might put some people off, that's my only critique, but it was made in the early 1970s. Gene Wilder is one of my all-time favorite actors.

So very glad we now own this classic movie. The new Burton version is stellar, however the original is brilliant! Was delivered in great shape & on time!

A movie to watch over and over again! I much prefer this version to the Johnny Depp edition. Wonderful performances from everyone, especially Gene Wilder.

The picture and sound are pretty good. I still love this movie! Gene Wilder is wonderful! This is a region free disc and had no problem playing in my PS4.

Way better than the remake. And by way better, I mean that there's no competition. Johnny Depp is a great actor but it's kind of insulting to have anyone portray a part that Gene Wilder mastered.

Took a little bit to get here, as I ordered it from overseas but when it arrived every thing was perfect.

Der Film zog mich von der ersten, bis zur letzten Minute in seinen Bann. Ich kenne sowohl diese Fassung, als auch die Neuverfilmung mit J. Depp. Jede von Ihnen fasziniert auf seine Weise. Diese Verfilmung empinde ich als wärmer. Zwar wirkt Willy Wonka manchmal kalt, fast grausam aber noch mehr, als in dem anderen Film, stellt Gene Wilder auf unvergleichliche Weise auch die Wärme dar und die Freude, die Willy Wonka zu dem machen, was er ist. Es gibt ein Interview mit Gene Wilder auf der Blue Ray. Dort wird erwähnt, dass Erwachsene oft mit dem Kopf schütteln und ein wenig erschreckt und pikiert sind über die konsequente und leicht gruselige Ader von Willy Wonka aber die Kinder ganz simpel feststellen: Wieso, sie wurden doch gewarnt, das haben sie doch verdient. Wer den Film sieht, für den ist sicher auch dieses Interwiew eine interessante Erweiterung der Eindrücke. Alles in Allem ein Film, der von allem etwas bietet. Spannung, Frohsinn, Einfühlsamkeit, Traurigkeit, Anregung zum Nachdenken, zum genießen und noch so viel mehr.

This film maybe a classic but still great.

C'est en 1971 que Mel Stuart réalise ce film qui est sa seule réalisation sur grand écran. Nous ne pouvons que le regretter. Son film passe du sombre au clair par différents tours de magie. Charlie est un jeune enfant pauvre (Peter Ostrum est parfait; ce fût malheureusement le seul film qu'il tourna) qui suite à un tirage (un ticket d'or trouvé dans une tablette de chocolat) se retrouve avec 4 autres enfants et leurs parents invité par le directeur d'une chocolaterie interprété par Gene Wilder lequel nous offre une de ses plus formidables performances d'acteur. Tour à tour inquiétant, primesautier et émouvant. En fait le personnage qu'il interprète est un véritable père fouettard pour 4 enfants prétentieux, gâtés pourris et insupportables. Charlie va sortir du lot accompagne par son grand père interprété par le génial Jack Albertson. La copie du film est excellente, les images sont superbes et les couleurs étincelantes. A ne manquer sous aucun prétexte.
