Immediately I noticed precise stereo imaging -- solid highs that are neutral and clean, great mids, and a full low end. As others noted a sub may be needed for movies and impact -- otherwise the music experience is accurate and quite enjoyable, especially with lossless audio and phono. R7s are quite revealing, so like any audiophile gear, suitable playback content is a must if you want them to really sing. Also note, they will want adequate breathing room from adjacent walls/surfaces to really open up.Great upgrade!Running stereo set up -- Bel Canto DAC 2.5, Bel Canto 501s Amp, KEF K62 Sub ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome *by on Reviewed in the United States January 22, 2026* Excellent speaker. Look amazing. Sound amazing. Super happy with these. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These are kef speakers *by on Reviewed in the United States June 29, 2024* I own a set of kef R11 non meta and I'm writing this review because I saw a one star review without an explanation... My non meta speakers exceed my expectations for a speaker and the kef corporation rolled out the red carpet to deliver them. True to kef sound my speakers are very neutral they lend themselves well to any type of music without prejudice classical is their forte but rock rap and cinema the exceed any speaker on the market. Although I don't own the R7 meta I can speak as an owner of the outgoing R11 non meta and these speakers don't disappoint. I also own a set of q500 speakers from kef. Anything by the kef brand will impress. And I use emotiva amplifiers to drive my speakers (there are higher end amps to run these speakers) I'm confident you will enjoy these speakers over anything you'll find in any store.
