It's a solution and will work - but it's not a full replacement if your intention is to do full barbell workouts. I however, only plan to do limited barbell workouts with dumbbells being used primarily. As such, it is a solution that saves space, money, and suffices. Others mentioned the dumbbells slide and move within the clasps, but I do not find that to be the case. I am using desertcart basics dumbbells and they are not flat (they are lifted and rounded in the middle). The jaylfex has foam inside the clips and along with the rounding it stops any movement. The problem with the solution is that the dumbbells are awkward. This means the weight is sort of dispersed incorrectly and when you pick up the bar it flops so the dumbbell is north and south (rather than how most of us hold them east and west). As I say, depending on the exercises you do, this may not prove to be an issue - but it should be noted that the bar prefers to be in a certain position. Sturdy enough for me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what I wanted *by A***Y on January 22, 2026* I like that I now have a barbell with adjustable weights by using this. I think it's made pretty well. My only gripe is that the collars/nuts are plastic and easy to cross-thread. If you are careful they look like they could last a while, but if you're impatient and cram the nuts on, I could see them breaking and ruining the functionality of this. Also, if not obvious, the barbell is not symmetric when using (since the dumbbells are not circular).
