Wore these shoes to Skellig Michael in ireland!
These shoes are great to wear and helped me survive 7+ days in Europe. Those whom have traveled to Europe know how uneven the grounds and road can be and how quickly the weather can change. These shoes were my go-to and all I wore since they were so versatile. So I did A LOT of walking in them. Hours and hours on end. Just like any other shoe, it takes some time to break in but once they are, they're pretty comfortable, stay secure, and breathable overall. They have survived all types of uneven grounds, rocky roads, gravel roads, dirt roads on a farm, walking in a city, rainy weather, cold weather, hot and humid weather, bus rides, you name it. Never had any issue and the drizzle mint is a good color. Not clunky or bulky either which is a bonus. And they were easy to pack in my travel cube shoe bag. The picture shown is from Skellig Michael in ireland where you're hiking up over 600+ uneven stairs up a mountain in the middle of nowhere but surrounded by the Atlantic ocean. You could easily fall off of the cliff if you weren't paying attention. These shoes helped me stay balanced and comfy during this hike. 10/10

Great Shoe
I bought these for my sister. She works at a tree farm/nursery and her feet are wet and dirty all day long. After another major brand began failing her after only a month I suggested these. She says her feet are dry and the shoes are comfortable. This is her new brand.

Comfortable and light weight
I own a pair of these that are high top. I decided I wanted a regular height pair for hiking on a trip we are planning. I hoped Merrell would have some waterproof ones and they do! I normally wear a 9W and these are a perfect fit. I've been wearing them on errands to break them in, but the truth is they are so comfortable I don't really think this is necessary. I'm surprised by how light weight they are for hiking shoes. My knees appreciate that. And if my experience with the boots holds true, I know these will hold up well to lots of use.

Wide and lumpy
I had a pair of these in an earlier version and a half size smaller. The shoes run true to length but they are quite wide across the arch through the toe box and they are difficult to lace as snug as I'd like because the tongue has so much padding that it wads up and becomes uncomfortable. So what would happen is my feet would slide forward and press up against the toe because of all that extra width. And for the longest time I didn't realize that was the problem. I just thought they were too short/small. So I ordered them a half size larger. I can tell this would have stopped my foot from pressing up against the toe, but they are still far too wide for me. On this pair for the listing I'm reviewing, they tongue on the left shoe had an extra fold in it so even though I didn't lace them tightly the tongue was rubbing hard on my foot just with little steps around the living room carpet. Overall: these just aren't for me and I have to accept that. I don't have a particularly narrow foot and I do wear wool hiking socks but even with those thick socks there is just way too much room in the arch for me to get good support. I do like these though because they have great traction, are extremely durable, and are reliably waterproof. I think they look great for a hiking shoe too. If you have a really high arch or if you have feet that are wide in the arch area but don't qualify for a wide shoe size: these are going to be great for you. They also come in a wide width but I can't speak to those. Net: not for me, but I do still recommend these for the right person.

Great shoes, super comfortable
I love these shoes. Got them for a recent trip that involved a lot of visits to ancient ruins and walking over cobblestones and the like in the rain, so I was looking for something waterproof, comfortable, and with decent traction. I was delighted to find these in a wide since Merrell often doesn't offer wide widths. These are definitely wide; with regular socks they are borderline too wide for me and I have the type of feet that can sometimes wear medium widths after a substantial break-in/stretch out period. They'd likely accommodate thicker socks with room to spare. I had read reviews that these shoes were comfortable from the start, with no need for breaking them in. Very true. They arrived the day before I left on a two-week trip and I wore them every day. No blisters — not even rubbing — and the thick base provides lots of stability and enough padding to keep my feet happy for many hours and miles of sightseeing. Also, you can slide your feet out of and into them without untying them, making them convenient when flying (or if you're generally lazy).

Tight fit
I am a true size 7. This hiking shoe is a tight size 7 with summer socks. If you use any kind of sock with substance, order the 7.5. Other than that, great shoe!

NOT waterproof!
I live in the country and routinely spend time walking the dog in wet grass or doing yardwork in wet grass and need good, sturdy, waterproof shoes that can hold up to that kind of wetness. I've never worn them in puddles or fully submerged them in water.... But after barely a few months of wearing them only a few times a week (and they don't get wet nearly every time) my toes are wet - especially the right foot - after spending only about 1/2 hour walking or working in wet grass. This is extremely disappointing as this brand has always done well with me over another popular brand and I expected them to actually be waterproof. Besides that, they are comfortable and sturdy, but the biggest selling point to me failed, so how happy can I really be?

very comfortable.
These replaced my worn-out Merrills. They are just as comfortable as the worn-out ones. On sightseeing vacations of mountains, I wear them all day long. At home I wear them whenever rain is predicted.

The fit is exactly the same as the regular Merrell boots. Very waterproof so far. High quality boot for the money.

I usually wear Keens and have done for years. I have a double knee replacement and need to wear supportive footwear which provides cushioning for the titanium prothesis. BUT I do believe Merrell's are above the Keens for their softer and gentler fabric around the ankle as my foot slips in. I do think I have now suffered from a very pleasant conversion.

Willkommen! Schuhe sind bequem, nur ein bisschen groß! 38,5EU wären genug gewesen. Merrell ist meine Wahl, weil es eine große Größe hat! Oder Schucheweit ist breit!
