MSR Xplorer Adv pants are great
It was time for new Adv riding gear and high-quality waterproof attire was the goal. I went with MSR Xplorer pants and jacket, and have been quite pleased. After 3-weeks of frequently rainy riding around the Isle of Man (yes, during TT race week!) and then the north of Scotland, these pants have more than met my expectations. Quality construction, very useable pockets and vents, and a great fit. The only minor improvement I would have liked is another snap or two in the leg cuffs to more tightly close the pant leg around the boot. Even so, I feel it is a great value when compared to all higher and lower priced products.

Fantasric pants! Please read my sizing notes...
Fantastic quality, I will be buying the matching Jacket as well soon. Rocky Mountain ATV is a great company with top notch customer service. Sizing: I am 5' 8" with a 30" inseam and weight 180lbs so I have a small gut. I usually wear a 34 waist, but that is slightly under my stomach. For these pants you will probably want to go up one size as they sit on your actual waist line for things like the hip armour to sign up properly. For me a 34 was to tight sitting down, a 36 was perfect. The regular length of 32 is fine with riding boots. The pant legs have a slight bagginess and you want that! In warmer weather when you open the vents that is how air flows through the pants. Also these are for adventure/adventure touring riders so the legs are designed to let you wear knee bracers under them when you remove the knee pads they come with. And yes they fit over boots, no problems fitting over my Alpinestar Toucan boots.

Good Set Of ADV/Touring Pants
Great pair of pants. Fits good for us Americans with "Dad Bods". Cons: Heavy, Stiff (at first), Shallow Pockets. Pro's: Waterproof, Breathable, Rugged Feeling and Comfortable despite the initial stifness. Wore in 30 degree (fahrenheit) temps with heated gear and wind liner. Very versatile for temperature ranges and environmental condistioons.

They are waterproof!
I spent so much time shopping for some decent, armored, waterproof gear. Surprisingly hard to find options in a world of slightly water resistant gear and lack of rain reviews. But i landed on these and went for it. Very happy I did. Bought the jacket too (equally great). Rode through the western oregon winter with lots of rainy, 30-40F degree days. Kept me warm and dry. On colder days I usually had a heated vest and a hoodie under the jacket. Jeans under the pants. One day it started to snow a little while I was out. Wasn't an issue. No water got in through any of the seams or zippers. They fit and look great. Armor pads stay where they are supposed to be. After one year (about 5000 miles), none of the material has started to come apart or fail. All zippers are still waterproof and going strong. I've been using them all summer in 85-100F degrees as well. The vents on the leg pockets open up wide and help get some air flow over my thighs. The inner material is comfortable when I just wear shorts under. They aren't so insulated that i can't wear them in the heat. I haven't had a need to adjust straps and things, but I forget they are even there if you're worried about that. Swinging my leg over the bike or putting a foot down, nothing has gotten caught. I'd say these are great value for the money. I like them because they keep me dry and let me adjust temp with layers underneath. I would not use these by themselves once it gets below about 40F. But using with my jeans underneath did fine for me.

Good value but not true to size
No, don’t not fit even though I ordered too big. No to mention the ridiculous length. Return is in process
