When the vibrato bridge was first designed in 1954, it had a machined steel inertia block for the simple reason it gave the instrument the required sustain and harmonic content. Over the years, manufacturers have continuously made this part more inferior in order to cut costs. Callaham manufactures an exact replacement block for stripped original bridges and it can be retrofitted onto any reissue instrument giving a dramatic increase in both sustain and frequency response. They manufacture basically 6 different blocks: An exact replacement block for those who need them, the enhanced vintage repro block, a block for modern American Standard bridges, a block for American Deluxe Series bridges, and a block for the Made in Mexico Standard series. This particular block is for Mexican Standard bridges. For Enhanced tremolo blocks Callaham suggests one of their three virtual pop-in arms although any 3/16 DIA 10-32 English threaded arm can be used in Callaham blocks. Using their proprietary enhanced block makes any arm virtually unbreakable. All of Callaham's tremolo blocks are machined from cold rolled non-leaded U.S.A steel and threaded for 10-32 English threaded arms. Review: Outstanding DIY Mod - Upgraded my 2004 MIM Strat on the recommendation of a trusted old friend. You can see the difference…and the sonics are even more obvious and stunning. Night and day from the old cast block. The sound? More vibrant, harmonically rich, twangy and Strat like. You can’t go wrong with Callaham. Review: Easy fit in my 2005 MIM Stratocaster - Noticeably mellower tone and increased sustain. Very happy with it.

1995 Mexican Fender Stratocaster
I have a 1995 Mexican fender Strat with various mods. It's a great guitar. It has the original trem block which is inferior to the Callaham. The Callaham is well made and quality. Coupled with their pop in trem arms is a very nice tight action. The problem was that since the Callaham is a bigger wider trem block it blocks some of the travel of the trem. My estimate is 30% travel in pitch. Ultimately I did not hear enough improvement in tone or sustain that offset the range limitation so I returned the block and reinstalled my original block

Great upgrade For my MIM Strat
Awesome trem block. Did wonders for the sustain of my strat. Fast shipping from seller and easy install...once you learn how to set intonation.

Awesome Tone
This is a great upgrade for my strat. I have an American strat and ordered my via Callaham. There is a significant tone and sustain difference. I recommend you contact Callaham to make sure you order the correct block for your guitar.
