Will this new charger work on any version? we purchased this for are cat over a year ago, but just recently lost the charger.

This new charger works with the Tractive GPS DOG 4 and CAT 4 trackers, yes. So if you bought the cat tracker, you can use this new charger with the CAT 4 tracker too :)

Do you charge this then put it on the collar or use it hooked up to the charger on the collar?

That's the charging mechanism. So clip that onto the tracker until it's charged, then take it off and put the tracker on the collar.

Is this to use instead of charging cord that came with tracker? That is so short it needs to be right next to outlet. I charge this then clip on Trac

This is the new charging design, yes. The feedback we received from customers was that the initial charging design was not particularly intuitive or user friendly, and this new design should help resolve that problem. The new charger is delivered with a charging cord and we recommend you use this charging cord when charging the tracker.
