Plain squares with fancy smashing? Why not!
I wanted to use Kaffe Fassetts gorgeous "Romance" fabrics for my squares but refused to cut them smaller than 8.5". So I looked for a way to make fancy smashing around each block that would set the square off like a frame. Using the squedge ruler and the pattern from their website. I did it and the quilt is gorgeous. Excellent directions and a great ruler helped me to make a knockout Kaffe quilt.
