Good
This test is good to do at home it’s easy for use. Value for money as it does work. Quality is great. If it does up that you need vitamin D I would recommend going to your GP to get an actual blood test, as sometimes these may not be accurate.

Accurate?
Accurate? No idea. However it does give you a baseline to work from. Easy to use

Really good to avoid unnecessary doctors trips and to help you confirm if you do!
Really fast, easy enough to follow instructions (only thing I wasn't sure on was the blood pipette, it said to collect to the fill line but I wasn't sure if that was from the bottom of the pipette to the fill line or from the fill line to the bulb of the pipette. I suspect the first one or it would have been a lot of blood but I just made sure to try to squeeze out extra to be safe!) Results were really fast and in my case very clear that I was deficient! The test comes with a small card with a colour key for the test results, if its dark pink you're deficient and if its lighter or white/not visible then you're not. Not sure if it's just a printing thing but my kit line was much darker than the dark pink example given, which either just means that the card is printed slightly lighter or I'm VERY deficient lol. Anyway, I'm always back and forth at the doctors for blood tests and such as I often have issues with my folates and iron so I'm always lacking in something or other. I had a feeling for a while I was low in vitamin D as I was borderline at the start of the year and don't tend to like to sit in the sun as I'm fairly light and heat sensitive. But with all my trips back and forth I didn't want to be calling for the 4th time in a month as you start to feel like a hypochondriac, and the doctors can sometimes be a bit dismissive. I thought I would maybe get some otc vitamin d but then got this instead because I figured if I was really low then I'd need prescription strength. Now knowing for certain I'm not going to be wasting nhs time and money, I can feel a lot more confident calling and saying "hey I did this home test kit first before calling and just wanted to see if I could get an official test and a prescription please" with less worry that I'll get fobbed off. This is also super helpful for me as I have adhd and low vitamin d seems to be more common for us and also impeads adhd medications effectiveness, so being able to confirm this before I call the doctors also helps with that as well. Obviously this can't provide a definite figure of how how deficient you are but it can give you a ballpark range, so because mine was a dark line it was probably under 10ng/ml, which I assume is too low! Honestly really good and quick way to rule out a doctors appointment if you're not sure or anxious around doctors or just don't want to go unnecessarily!

Utterly wrong result confirmed by professional lab test
Result was less than 10 ng/mL but I had a professional lab blood test on the same day which gave 40 ng/ mL. Utterly wrong reading from this test kit!

Unclear results
The method of reading the results should be clearer. You kinda have to guess the results.

Gives a good basic level
Easy to administer. I had to put my glasses on to see the result but that is probably just my old eyes. Gave quick results which give a baseline d level. All bits needed are included in the test.

Excellent and accurate
Like many, I have taken the step to take charge of my health as here in the UK getting an appointment with a GP is like digging for gold! I suffer with low mood however I noticed lately I have felt tired and lethargic more than usual, being self employed it's very important I look after my health. Anyway I searched the NHS website for possible causes and saw it could be my Vitamin D. I took the test purchased off amazon as its the same one the pharmacy use (but cheaper) and it confirmed I was dificient. I contacted a pharmacy who prescribed me vitamin D supplements and gave me some dietary advice which I have taken seriously. Needless to say six weeks later I am feeling much better and a second test confirmed my Vitamin levels were normal again. I will be checking my levels regularly and definitely recommend this test.

Worked Fine
I’ve been supplementing D3 at 4000IU per day for the last 3 years. So wanted to check my VD blood levels. The kit/test was a little fiddly. The cap on the pricking device was in 2 pieces the white cap and an orange pin (see pictures). Managed to complete the test ok and the results indicate my D3 levels are “sufficient “ that is >30-100ng/ml. Ideally I’d like to know that my level is closer to the 100ng level but for that I would need a lab test.
