Can you see through this fence?

There are small spaces between each bamboo stick. The fence is very sturdy and wired together with stainless steel wire. I use it as a wind break for my Shohin bonsai.

how long will this last in new england?

Bamboo fence are weather resistant and durable, flexible.If you always use in indoor, the fence can last for about 2-3 years. If you always use in outdoor, the fence can last for about 1-2 years.

How much does it weigh?

I believe no more than 15 pounds. They are flexible and very durable. We've had them in place for 2 years, and they show no wear. Very happy.

Can I split it and make 2 pieces?

Yes. Each section can be split up longways by cutting the wire that lashes the bamboo rods together, but you will lose one stick of bamboo on each side so you have enough wire to twist together to secure / end each section. It’s about a half inch each side loss in length.
