You need to try Goo Gone for removing sticky things from plastic. This eraser is best for removing small accidents with glue (like Tombow) in cardmaking and paper crafting.

I'm trying and failing to use this to remove the stickiness left behind by a sticker on the back of a paperback book. What am I doing wrong?

Probably goo gone is better for what your needs are. This is used for removing masking fluid and also for adhesives like rubber cement.

Will this work for rubber cement?

I am thinking that it would. It's been a long time since i've used rubber cement but if I remember right I could use my finger to remove it. So this should work.

It’s a 1” x 1” x 1” x 1” square it’s about an eighth of an inch thick. It works amazing at removing tape residue or glue residue from paper mainly card stock not your every day computer paper

Great item for any crafter

Best ever glue remover. I am a crafter and there is nothing worse than when you get glue residue on your cards. It works with Tombow glue and tape runners.... I have two, one I have whole and the other I have cut pieces off to make pointed ends to get those small places. It does not mark your card either.

Fabulous Rubber

I love this rubber. It can get rid of so many things from your papers. If it gets too dirty you can just cut a little bit off and start again. Great product.
