Does this stick to the fabric, so it stays in place?

We purchased this item specifically for that purpose, as part of my daughter’s final major project in Fashion & Textiles. It’s absolutely rubbish. Three stitches into the embroidery the fabric tore. She tried multiple times. It’s not suitable for embroidery at all.

This is a soluble material - not anything to do with cross stitch if that’s what you mean. I have used it with embroidery thread to stabilise it you soak the sulky away in running water the embroidery can be moulded in something then, when dry it stands alone.
