is there a way to put a tiny lock on it, like a luggage lock?

We added a tiny lock. It hangs down past the box but still works. We used bread bag tie wires to make two loops - one through the tip of the closure and one through the wood under the clasp. We poked through the wood with a thumb tack and poked the wire through. The two loops in the lock hold it closed.

Has anyone ever tried wood burning or wood carving with these? Do you think it would work?

I think burning would work but too thin to carve.
