What is renewed product mean?

Usually renewer is perfect condition not even used just returned. And then amazon resells it for cheaper than new ones cost. I just got unlucky and got a horrible pair but I sent it back and have a perfect pair now for cheaper than the cost new. 62$ vs 100$
