Kirkland Signature Artichoke Hearts, 33oz Jar (Pack of 3, Total of 99 Oz)

these are the best marinated artichoke hearts ever. costco/kirkland brand works out to be the tastiest, best value. the left over marinade makes a great salad dressing.

I adore artichokes and prepare fresh ones fairly often, but they are a bit labor intensive. I have, from time to time, tried those little jars of often hyper-seasoned marinated hearts, whose sharper leaves remind you that they're, after all, the flower buds of thistles. I'm a fan of good seasoning but like to taste the product. I never use the cans; they're mushy, tasteless and, for me, bear only a faint reminder they're artichokes. I've several times bought frozen hearts from Peru. They're also expensive but don't have that good flavor of fresh. I realize I'm talking a bit apples and oranges here--fresh and marinated hearts. But when I tasted that first big succulent, slightly firm, bright, seasoned-to-perfection, no-obvious-thistle-present, quarter of a Kirkland marinated artichoke heart right from that brimming jar, I knew I was home (if not a home I'd been to before). I ordered the 66 oz jar, which fortunately arrived as (2) 33oz. These are great right out of the fridge, plain or on a cracker, in any dish in which you've used quartered hearts before, or on pizza. Yesterday I sliced three in half, added them to a little hot nonstick pan, (no additional oil necessary as marinated in oil), reduced temp, added 2 lightly beaten eggs and had some great scrambled eggs with artichoke for breakfast. The seasoned hearts also seasoned the eggs just right. I used 1 grind of pepper at the end.

The set of marinated Artichokes hearts had dented lids. Upon opening the Amazon box, the base of the box was covered with Artichoke oil. After washing the two jars with soap, in order to remove the oil, I found that both jars were leaking. What a waste of something so delicious. Also, Costco had them in the store for $14 dollars and change. I had paid over $24 dollars. They were shipped for free from the manufacturer but I ended throwing them away. It's a big No, No to eat jars of food with damaged caps that had broken suction seals. The set of jars I received could have given a person botulism. One last bit was the expiration date of the set was only a few months away.

I was going to leave bad review because It took over two weeks to arrive but they sent three jars instead of two that I ordered. Still the same delicious taste. Love these on pizza with banana peppers and green olives.

I originally got & then tried these by mistake, instead of the bean salad I ordered & later re-ordered from a different source. I happen to love marinated artichokes, & had never tried this brand before, so I have to thank the seller who sent me these "in error". I have already bought this product again. These make a wonderful snack on my favorite cracker, or in the salads I love. I even like artichoke pizza! The quality of this brand exceeds what I've gotten from my local grocery store (both good flavor but these have a better texture) so I'll be buying these as long as they're available. The large jar isn't a turn-off either- they keep well once opened but since I can't stop eating them, they don't have time to spoil anyway.

Perfect! Unlike the tendency of other brands, all the hearts are tender. The marinade is flavorful & most importantly—-the jars didn’t leak in transit. I’ve experienced other brands that consistently leak or open during delivery & so I could not eat them. This is not the case with this brand. These are a “keeper” & I’ll continue getting them for sure.
