8in1 usb C dock from Plugable
Brilliant aluminium 8 in 1 dock from Plugable. It acts as a phone, tablet/ iPad stand. In terms of ports we have 2x USB 3, HDMI, microSD, SD card, USB C 100W Pass-through Charging, audio in jack and USB C to connect your device. Compatible with Windows, iPadOS, USB-C Phones, and Tablet. In my video I was even able to connect a HP laptop via USB C and project the image to an external screen. I definitely recommend this dock.

Sturdy and extremely useful
This docking station for i-Pad and other USB-C tablets and phones maybe a bit pricey but it’s not just a simple tablet/phone stand. It has a lot more to offer. As with other plugable products it arrived in its own well branded and slick looking box and comes with a two year warranty. There is a supplied USB-C to USB-C cable to connect your device and a USB-C power 100W pass-through port on the station (using your existing devices power cable). With an 8 Port hub, it makes any device that much more multifunctional, expanding storage and opening connectivity options. You can also charge your device through the stand. The device I am currently using does not support Display Port Alt Mode (and my current display does not have HDMI), but I am glad that I have this station, as it is future proofed when the monitor gives up on me. That said, by the time I get another monitor, 4k at 30hz will be the absolute minimum. All of the other ports and Audio in/out were tested and all seem fine and the connections are firm. It would have been great to have ethernet included but not a must-have for me. As a stand, it is sturdy and good quality with tilting and anti-slip design. It is reassuringly stiff to adjust and it fits a larger 10.2" iPad (with bulky case) comfortably but more suited to 10.9" without case. I have even tried a smaller MBA when I needed quick access to a couple of attached peripherals and although it is not advertised for this, it was OK for me… but I used extreme caution as something large/heavy could make it tip easily if not angled properly. The stand itself is small enough to easily sit alongside a monitor without taking too much desk space, even with larger tablets. This should not hinder your workspace at all if using with smaller tablets or phones. At £75.05 with 5% discount applied at time of writing this, it represents fair value when you effectively have a hub and a quality stand.

Works beautifully with DeX!
I got this hoping to turn my Galaxy Tab S7+ into more of a desktop capable tablet and I am absolutely delighted to say it works beautifully! Plugged a keyboard, mouse, TV and power into this dock, connected my tablet into the USB host port and instantly the tab prompted me to enter DeX mode. Up it popped on the TV and after changing the audio setting I was able to use the TV as a full blown full HD monitor for my tablet. Everything is responsive, no audio lag, no weird display issues. This means as long as I have my bluetooth mouse and keyboard and this dock I no longer need to carry my laptop with me! The unit itself is built like a tank. Full metal, very strong (almost too stiff) hinges which have absolutely no trouble heaving up my heavy tablet. I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I do but I'm kinda blown away by how easy it all is. It IS pricey, and you can get similar docks cheaper, but this is all about the convenience and build quality. To have it hold the tablet up comfortably, be foldable and compact and as tough feeling as it is, this thing is a tank! Love it!

Samsung S8 Ultra (Heavy/huge), S10 phone and Steam Deck. Quite expensive, but quality
This is primarily for a S8 Ultra tablet c.15inch/1Kg monster, but also used for an S10 phone and a steam deck. When I refer to charging/power, this is my own fast charger, it isn't included with the stand. The design and quality are all above average, this isn't a 'flood the market' piece of junk. The hinges are well engineered and easily copy with the S8 which is a very cumbersome item in its case. It plugs in and works beautifully in DeX (sort of chrome laptop) mode with accessories and monitors plugged into this station. The power through is sufficient to power anything I have encountered so far including the steam deck, and it has way more functions and ports than my MacBook Pro laptop. I use it routinely as a simple charging dock because it is secure and throughputs fast charging. It works equally well in S10 phone mode. It works very well connected to a smart TV too, albeit with the limitations of DeX and streaming services. The steam deck (SD) works brilliantly with the power, the availability of USB ports and HDMI out but sadly the cupped bracket to rest the bottom of the deck is a few mm too narrow for the SD and so it sits on top instead of being cradled. This makes it a bit precarious. Such a shame, it's not what it is designed to do but it would have been a fantastic bonus. For longer installations you can get around this with a rubber band. Overall very happy, highly recommended. Maybe a bit pricey but worth it. if it had a fruit label on it you'd be pleased to part with 199.

Great if you like to have your iPad on your desk
I sometimes like to have my iPad at the side of the desk when I'm working and the fact that this has a passthrough charging port is a tremendous benefit since it means I can keep the iPad top top while I'm working. The banister can use it just for your normal phone as well of course although because of the size of it it's probably bigger than you would want just for a phone. I also like that there is a headphones port so that if you connect this to your desktop computer you can power the stand and use it as an output device as well as having the camera card slots as well which is really cool. For that reason it actually saves space for me from having to use several separate accessories that I used to use and there is an HDMI port on the back which some people may find useful although I'm not using it personally. All in all I think this is a great combo stand.

It’s OK but v overpriced
This is an overpriced and rather poor quality item for that price. It’s basically a stand for an iPad. That’s it. It had a power facility, but that makes no difference as you could just plug it in directly. The other options are meaningless. This cannot hold a laptop. An utter waste of your money.

Versatile Transportable dock for Computers and tablets
The Plugable 8-in-1 USB C Docking Station for iPad with Stand is a brushed finish aluminium USB-C dock. It’s targeted labelled as for iPad; but it works just as well with my PC and macbook. At which point it becomes a PC dock and phone or tablet charging stand. The dock is 100 x 98 x 18mm (or 43 deep if you measure folded up 43.) Pluggable include a 50cm USB-C cable in the box too. The included cable is the black one in the photos connected to the iPad mini. Port wise; you get an HDMI – up to 4k 30hz only; which is driving the monitor in the photos. 3.5mm combination Headphone & microphone port, USB Power in and USB Host; you can put 100w into the unit and it will pass through charge my laptop (90w) or iPads depending on what’s connected. There are two USB-3 (A) sockets which can send 5Ws if you need to charge something low power. There is a SD and Micro SD Card reader (not UHS-2 in my tests). When it arrived, I took it into the office with me for the day; and wished that the display stand or top of the dock had a QI charging element in them – that would make works infosec happied about plugging a phone into my computer. In the office being able to plug my phone headset etc into the dock via the single USB-C cable and plug all the devices I need for work into the dock was great. When I needed to go present in a meeting room; unplug one cable and carry the laptop away, easy. Transporting the docking station to work was easy as it folds up nice and compact. The card reader slots aren’t as fast I would like; they are fully functional but if your camera is a high megapixel one (mine is 45 Megapixels) you will be waiting for the images to read out. If you are using it with an iPad, you can see in the images the stand element is nicely padded as is the base. The base can go in a lot of positions if you need your iPad pointing straight up, no problem. You can lower it down to the desk and use it as a sort of typing stand for your iPad; it’s no perfect as the metal U’s of the stand do snag your hands unless you practice a good, curved hand position. The Pluggable 8in 1 iPad dock makes it easy to use the new iPados great productivity feature – stage manager turning my monitor into an extended display on my iPad making multi-tasking more computer like. The dock makes it easy to get the iPad screen onto a 4k video to take advantage of it. (The iPad mini in the photo can’t do it.) Pluggable are calling it an 8 port-hub, which is accurate but one of the USB-C Sockets is strictly power only. As a dock for ipados it works nicely; and could be useful in a meeting room as a quick route to connect an iPad to a display, that it also works as compact computer dock could be useful for laptop and desktop users alike as a port extender or just a tidy way to connect your computer up if your monitor doesn’t have usb-c. Used with an iPad it’s an intriguing option for travel as it can turn your iPad into a lightweight portable computer (albeit it you still need a keyboard or mouse.

bit of an expensive one
This is currently £79.99 making it very much the premium product but it lacks the premium feel and finish to go with the price and is more suited to the £40 mark to be honest. I was worried initially on unpacking this as it has a very strong smell of burnt out electronics but on checking everything appears to be working. the finish around the hinges is a bit rough as is the plastic covers on each end of the base making it look cheap. Functionality wise it has everything you need really to turn your tablet/mobile into a lightweight computer with a headphone port, HDMI port, two USB 3 ports and built in card reader. In the box is a short USB C cable that connects your device to the base for data and power and is short enough to keep out the way -a nice touch. These stands are handy without the inclusion of all the connections but I can't help but think it would be just as easy to get a stand and port expander separately for half the price
