Similar in sound? I would not want to spend the money if they are going to sound virtually the same.** A: The 991 has a much more full sound. Both are great condensor mikes, but also have a very high SPL tolerance. I'm happy with my purchase. **Q: what's inside the box? It has an XLR input (btw, cables ARE NOT included) instead of USB or Bluetooth. **Q: I'm looking for a studio mic with a crystal clear sound, and absolutely no background hissing. How does this mic sound quality-wise?** A: the 550 very clean and crisp for vocals. If you experience background noise, check your signal chain, or ambient noise.
