One of the Best CCTV Outdoor Microphones
The Vanxse Microphones I Rate as one of the Best out there for Outdoor use, Although I do have mine installed in a Plastic Box (Plastic Electrical Receptacle Boxes) to keep the Rain & Snow off of them. They are Very Sensitive, with Volume Control. I can actually hear the Deer eating Grass, Squirrels chasing each other, etc etc..! Superior Sharpness against other Microphones I have tried..! You can hook them up on the Audio Input Port on the back of your Surveillance DVR for recording Audio along with the Surveillance Video Cameras, or what I had to do, was order a Mini Hi-Fi Microphone Stereo Audio Amplifier. I believe it was around 13 bucks, and 2 Mic's can be hooked into it, then I ran a pair of old Computer Speakers off the Amplifier.. (My DVR sounded like Crap with Audio Microphones hooked into it) Vanxse Microphones seem to be getting harder to find, so I Always order Extras for Backup, Mainly because Lightening Storms here on Top of my Mountain, Close Lightening Strikes do Take them out. Over 13 Years I've had to replace mine out on my Workshop metal Building 3 times already due to Lightening Storms.. Overall, Best Bang for the Buck, Order Extras, you'll be Glad you did..!

Box says 6000hz Ad says 16000. Make windsock from AC filter. Better than "power passthrough" version
1 star off for misleading ad or box? 4 stars for decent sound at a low price. Ad says 16000hz, Box says 6000hz. VMS software only lets you select 16khz or 32khz. But it works, so either VMS doesn't really care its 6000hz, or its really 16000hz & the box is wrong? This one makes much less humming than the "power passthrough" version. That one wouldn't work well and made a loud humming noise with the "denoise" feature on from VMS. Whether you used power passthrough or not. Much better sound with this one with "denoise" on. I made a wind sock from AC pre filter "open cell foam". I cut a length a bit wider than the mic, wrapped the mic twice, then used lo temp hot glue to keep it in place. Then glued the open sides shut like a pizza roll if that makes sense. This made it even better because we have a slight constant wind in michigan which would cut out any sound that isn't loud. Windsock pizza roll worked perfect and its very clear. Hope this helps someone.

Terrible product.
Way too much static and high pitched humming. Seems like a grounding issue. Stopped working totally after 6 months.

Lots of static.
No matter how I wired this and what filters I ran it through I still got a certain degree of static and interference. I have yet to solve the problem of why it did not work well. It appears to be made very well if I could never work out the problem why there's an interference it will be worth the money.

Let's you hear your cameras.
Thing works great. It is cheap as hell, you have to adjust gain, slight delay in sound but, we can hear all the way up the block. Easy to install and adjust.

Very Sensitive, Some Cracking and Popping
I wanted to add audio to my home security system and so I purchased this based on the reviews and price. I also purchased the Tonton High Sensitive Weatherproof Preamp Microphone from Amazon. This mic out performs the other mic. It is so much more sensitive. However, it is so sensitive that some noises can peak it out quickly. It also does a lot of cracking and popping. However, the price I'm giving it 5 stars. It's not perfect, but it's certainly better than the other one.

GREAT PRODUCT !!!!!!!
Great security microphone. When I took it out of the box, I was a little skeptical. I got it hooked up to my system and I was surprised at what I could hear with this thing. It is amazing. It has a gain screw on the under side of the unit, I adjusted mine full clockwise then backed it off a quarter turn with a small phillips head screwdriver and it picks up everything and it's not even at full gain! I recommend this product. I really don't think you'll be disappointed. I plan to get another one of these.....It is well worth the money.

Works great, very clear
This replaced a cheaper mic that had a low hum. This not only eliminated the hum, but is able to pick up voices almost twice as far away. I haven't had any experience with extremely loud noises, which may distort, but so far I have no complaints.
