Mine did very well initially but then died- not enough sun probably **Q: I want to order one as a present, how long can they remain in the packaging before being planted please?** A: should be planted straight away not left in packaging as it will be bare rooted,or plant it in a large pot and given that way. **Q: what is best compost for bare root fruit trees** A: I used my own compost when l planted the tree. Plenty of blossom initially and some tiny fruits started to develop but failed to become large fruit. Not surprising as a young tree. So l would say a decent compost should suffice plus bonemeal. **Q: is the 4ft to 5ft height above the roots or including the roots** A: Don't worry, the plant I received was in excellent condition and carefully packaged, Upon receipt I was impressed, it had plenty of branches and leaves (we are in winter now). Arrives as a bare root tree.
