The suction, for the moment at least, offers a solid attachment to the surface and seems not to leak. I am using it in horizontal mode [ie: camera mounted above the suction plate] so cannot comment on its suitability for vertical applications.Rapid delivery and very fair price complete the deal. (my camcorder is mounted upside-down to get it tight in the top corner of the windcreen.
