Acryl Med 16 Oz Glaze Liquid Satin

I've been using acrylic paints for decades. A few of the down sides are the relatively short working time and achieving transparent washes. I find that using this product in Satin (not to shiny and not too matt) along with a few drops of retarder keeps my paint fresh and workable for a much longer time and allows me to apply multiple glazing effects without risking over diluting with water and loosing the qualities of the colors. I am always impressed with Golden's diverse range of high quality, inventive products and enjoy experimenting with their many mediums and textured modeling pastes. It's a go to thinner for acrylic paints... essential to creating thin glazes and extend shelf life. I pre- mix special colors and mix in the satin glaze medium before sealing the jar to extend useful life

This glaze is very nice to add to acrylic paint. The paint glides on much better and doesn’t dry as quickly. It doesn’t alter the paint color.

I love this glazing medium!

I saw a video about using this as an under layer in coloring books so I can use water color in the books. So I got it for that purpose. It brushes on very easily and I let it dry overnight. It dries pretty smooth. The pages curl a bit but flatten out when pressed. It has no bad odor. After drying I can do multi media art on the page without the paper coming apart and with it bleeding through the page.

I used this medium to liquefy my heavy body acrylic paints to make them more suitable to use with a Gelli Plate.

Using it to lift dried acrylic a little on my paintings, works nicely.

Well I use Golden product's almost exclusively so I already know it's good quality. Also Golden really stands behind its products. If you have a problem product just contact them and they will replace it no charge. I made a mistake ordering this from Amazon without checking this glazing medium from my usual supplier and it turns out to be DOUBLE the price of my regular supplier. Totally my fault and lesson learned.

Great addition to my acrylic paints. Slows down the drying time and creates a beautiful colour glazing with enough translucency that layering colours gives a soft transition and blending
