Great value and easy to use
I have a in-ground freeform pool with an aggregate surface and no screen/ cage. I bought this pool vac with the intention using it to supplement my regular vacuum with a hose that plugs into the suction port, which is somewhat of a pain to use (I don't like swimming with the vacuum and hose in the pool so each vacuuming session involves putting in, then taking out the vacuum and hose). This sucker just gets dropped in the water and the next day, I pull it out when I go in the pool (or can use the included hook on a pole). You can leave it in the pool as long as you want though. I am amazed at how much this vacuum picks up! It does great on leaves and grass and sand (and even surprisingly large bamboo leaves); it generally gets over 98% of the debris in the pool with each session. It doesn't climb walls, but I don't need that. I find that I rarely use my much more expensive classic pool vacuum because this does such a good job. If the pool isn't really dirty then I don't even need to empty it every session. After each session, I charge it (approximately 3 hours) and then it is ready for next time. I charge it in a covered area by the pool and leave it outside when not in use. If I see the pool looks at all dirty (without a cage, debris blows in regularly) it takes just a few seconds to pick up the unit and drop it in the deep end. It scoots along fairly quickly and is propelled by water flowing out of one of two discharge ports facing opposite directions. When it hits an obstruction such as a wall, it starts discharging through the opposite port and moves in the opposite direction. Thus, no moving parts apart from the impeller that provides suction and the discharge stream. It hangs slightly on my elevated drain cover but never gets stuck. The 4 non-powered wheels are plastic but show no significant wear so far. Cleaning the device takes no longer than cleaning the filter basket on my pool pump. As others have noted, it moves around randomly and doesn't hold in very fine debris like dead algae. But it gets almost all of the debris in my pool and is so very easy to use. More expensive units may do a bit more thorough job, but this is truly a great value. Highly recommended!

Disappointing / Update: now sitting on shelf
Overall unimpressed. We have a rectangular pool with barstool and this unit finds itself trapped between the stools or in the corners, bouncing back and forth, since the jets are pushing opposite each other. I now spend the entire 90 minutes that it runs monitoring it as it gets “stuck” about 80% of the time. It is unable to maneuver its way out and runs out of battery. A remote control would be extremely helpful, since the pole and hook is required to get the unit “unstuck”. This would be great for round pools as it does clean very well and picks up fine particles. The lid is a little tricky to remove (you have to gently work each tab off individually, working side to side) and it is easy to clean once the top is removed. Pros: Cleans well Easy to clean once lid is removed Easy to retrieve once parked Cons: Gets stuck in any non circular area Unable to maneuver out when stuck Will remain stuck until battery dies Difficult to retrieve with pole/hook when bouncing back and forth when stuck Recommendations to manufacturers: 1) Remote control 2) Jets reconfigured so not just pushing opposing sides UPDATE 3/6/2024: So months later, I have reduced my rating to zero stars. This product actually pollutes your pool. It picks up and retains solid debris; fine rocks, chlorine granules, etc. Anything else; leaves, algae, bird dropping, it shreds and breaks up and redistributes it back into the pool. I lent this to my neighbor for algae removal. It seemed to remove it and hours later the algae was redistributed all over his pool; it was worse than before he used the unit. I watched it suck up a large clump of bird stool, and found nothing when I cleaned the unit. Same for the leaves; most of the leaves were in the unit, but a good amount were being shredded and redistributed. The water was cloudier and much dirtier after each use. If it’s thought out logically, it makes sense. Without an external waste line to remove debris, it can only go back into the pool. The same strong suction that picks up the debris shoots it out of the unit as well. This entire design system is flawed. I won’t be purchasing any more pool cleaning devices for the pool floor that don’t have a dedicated waste removal line. That being said, the Betta is an excellent solar skimmer for the pool surface that I cannot say enough positive about. Unfortunately, this unit is a complete waste of money and has been retired to the shelf. I can only recommend it for cleaning up rocks.

Perfect for my pool
My above ground pool is located under several oak trees which means I get pollen pods (tassels), leaves, and squirrel droppings, and acorn shells from the squirrels in the pool, depending on the season. This little vacuum is getting it all up, and my pool looks freshly installed when it's done. I have several wrinkles in the pool liner, and only one is large enough to stop the robot, but if I'm out there when it happens, I poke it with my foot or the hook, and off it goes again. I used to spend about 20 minutes with the skimmer and vacuum hose from the pump to clean the pool each day. Now I set it on this little robot on the water and walk away. The only problem I found is that the robot must go directly from charger into the pool. When I unplugged it and left it overnight, it only ran for 20 min. And for what the robot does, this is a good trade-off. Go ahead. Buy it. I'm delighted with mine

Avg/Below avg performance for 3-mo. Dead within a year.
Similar performance to an average manual vacuum for the first three months. Enough battery life to pick up leaves and other small debris. Slightly below average performance on smaller particles like pollen. Unfortunately, the unit stopped functioning after approximately one year of use.

Does a decent job.
This will pick up anything bigger than fine sand. It does not pick up dust and blows it out it’s exhaust. This might be ok because it allows the regular pool filter to clear the dust out. It does not map out the pool like a roomba, but just randomly goes back and forth and gets most of the pool by the time it is done. I have a deep end of the pool and I was worried it would get stuck there but it managed to get all over. One area that it does not do well is corners. Cleaning is easy however the lock handles are sometimes difficult to open. Also fitting the filter back into the channels can be challenging. Charging was a little tricky in that the charger will turn green before it’s fully charged up, I think because it gets too hot and stops charging, after it cools down it will continue charging. Overall I would give this buy a B+.

Would work great on a flat pool and small debris
Really wanted to love this pool vacuum. The cleaning power was great. The ease of use perfect. The ability to walk across an uneven pool surface and cover the entire bottom of the pool not great. Consistently covered 1/4 of the pool. Could not navigate around the dual center drains and did not have the power to walk up what must be a slight slope at the edge near my skimmer/pump return. Did clear a lot of maple pollen / small debris from the bottom of pool. Not sure if it could handle leaves. 24' round pool. Returned and purchased a wall climbing version that can handle a slope - amazing the difference in floor coverage of the vacuum.

Very disappointed
Bought this almost exactly a year ago. Loved it when we first got it. Worked exactly like the reviews said. Easy to use, cleaned pool very well. We live in NY so this is a seasonal item for us. Only used it 2 months in 2023. Opened the pool end of June 2024 and only used the vacuum a few weeks before it started to die in the middle of the pool. Wouldn't hold a charge. Called the number in the manual and they tried to troubleshoot over the phone and by email. No luck. The first person we talked to said they would be sending us a new one because we were still within the warranty. Many phone calls, emails with proof of purxhase....still no resolution and no replacement vacuum which was under the one year warranty. We were told the "solutions" office is in China, so they are on different time zones. The customer service reps are located in Seattle. You can make your own decision based on the reviews, we did, and honestly mad at ourselves for buying this!!! Had the company done right by us and honored the warranty, my review would be different.

Good pool vac, great value
Does a good job cleaning. Is able to travel to shallow end of pool from deep end without problem!! Was worried it wouldn't. Deep end of my pool is 6ft and shallow end is about 3ft. Stainless mesh filters sand size particles. Unit picks up decent size leaves and run time is good. Pattern in my pool is pretty random. When the unit picks up too much speed going down slope it turns causing it to slow down. A couple of slight complaints. The latches for cleaning could be easier to open. They don't swing free so you have to maintain pressure on them while shaking it free. The base has too many places for leaves to get stuck when spraying out with the hose. Over all happy with purchase and price point.

No funciona
Al ponerse a cargarlo en un tiempo de no más de 5 min. Se enciende la luz verde (carga completa) esto provoca que el robot no trabaje más de unos cuantos segundos. Lo he regresado y solicite reembolso.
