This has gotta be the definitive instant mashed potato. I’ve been buying this for years and it’s never let me down. Picture a heaped plate of creamy Idaho mashed spuds, stick a couple of pork bangers into it, garnish with onions - well fried ‘fairground style’ - and sloshed over with thick gravy. If that ain’t worth a Michelin star, then I don’t know what is. No faffing around, peeling, boiling, and mashing. Idahoan mashed tatties are so easy to prepare that the cat could do it - and their taste and texture are second to none.

This is really handy if your in a rush and want a quick meal, it is really tasty, size is just right for me.

Really good quality instant mash

I love this Idahoan Buttery potato flakes. My Daughter lives in USA and as their potatoes aren't very good she says happy and she used this alot. I bought them as I've have been told due to weather that potatoes will rise and could be in short supply. This is my second order and it's so simple to make. You add the mix in a basin and add boiling water different amounts depending what size you bought mix well I put a little salt and pepper and let it stand for 1 minute. They taste really good unlike Smash. If you need you can add a know of butter. They are also a substitute if you run out of potatoes. I've been told they are popular with people in the USA. More expensive but they taste really the other type with garlic and the one with herbs are very good too.

By far the best mashed potato that I've tried. Smooth and easy to mix. I use half a sachet at a time and keep the other half for another day. Easy peasy !!

Awesome product. I'm old enough to remember Cadburys Smash. I can't believe people peel potatoes and then boil them and then smash them to pieces. ,😂😂😂 This makes better mash than real mash ever will especially if you add butter black pepper and a little cream.

I heard someone else raving about this product a few years ago, found a shop that sold them & picked up a single packet to try. I was an instant convert & I've always been fussy about the taste of potatoes. These have a lovely full potato flavour, unlike some of the watery tasting types they seem to sell in the shops nowadays. I don't use as much water as the packet suggests as I think it makes the mash too sloppy, so I use about 350ml (I have a hot water dispenser style kettle & it's the most it will do in one boil) & find that makes a really lovely mash (I do add a bit of butter as well) that nobody so far has been able to tell isn't home made. I've ordered this multipack many times now over a couple of years because it's just so handy & there is no waste, no gone off potatoes etc.. I find one packet is enough for 2 nice portions which (as a family of 2) is perfect for us. You can just leave this until about 2 minutes before you are serving up dinner, mix it up with the water, give it a good stir with a fork & it's done. I've also forgotten a couple of packets at the back of the cupboard & made them up a few months past their best before date - couldn't taste a difference, so this stuff keeps well. When you are wet & cold, some of this with instant gravy is a filling hot snack ready in the amount of time it takes to boil the kettle, so it's great either as a snack or with a meal. I also mix flour into the made up mash to make a dough, fry it in the pan & have basic potato cakes (a favourite in our house) If you last tried instant mash in the 70s, this is worlds away from what you remember. It's absolutely delicious, as versatile as any mashed potato & can be used exactly the way you would use any mashed potato you made yourself without the hassle or mess. I've just ordered yet again & realised it's probably my most purchased food on Amazon. For me, this is a cupboard must have.
