It's already charged up and not only is it charged by sunlight but it has a socket that accepts my phone charger.Comes with a cable too.Use your own charger. Not that it needs one but thought has been put into it's design.It has a button next to the solar panel that is the on/off switch.It does not act like an automatic garden light.The gooseneck stem is very flexible and not at all floppy..Overall,It's a steal.I'm very happy with it and using it as a bedside lamp. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Armchair reader *by B***N on 30 November 2017* Arrived on time.
