Review: I've tried every pair of sleep buds - To put my experience in context I've had a lot of sleep devices that I've used every night since 2018: - Bose Sleepbuds v1.0 (brilliant comfort & sound library, warranty replacement due to battery failure) 5 PAIRS of Bose Sleepbuds v2.0 (same brilliant comfort & sound library, warranty replacements due to battery failures...) Amazfit Zenbuds (early adopter £67). Bought as a backup due to the amount of time my Bose Soundbuds were absent due to warranty replacements. Comfort & sound are okay, but the battery life is dreadful. QuietOn 1.0 (early adopter, £177). Honestly, I wore them once (briefly), couldn't sleep, like having 6 inch nails inserted into your ears - genuinely a painful experience, and active noise cancelling in a sleep device is no match (IMHO) for noise masking. AWFUL (their new ones might be better, who knows). My Soundcore A10's are as close as you'll currently get to the Bose Sleepbuds. Bose were 10/10 for comfort, Soundcore are 8.5/10 (very good) - even for side sleepers. The A10 sound library is also good - the Snoring Attenuation sound is particularly effective. My only minor complaints are it's not as loud, there is only one traditional "beep beep" alarm tone, and the ear tips aren't "Bose" quality - still perfectly good though. The A10's have the bonus of being Bluetooth headphones - but I don't use them to listen to music - so won't comment on the quality. Now I'll happily use either my "perfect" Bose Sleepbuds (sadly no longer available - I think I've used all their old stock by now...) or the Soundcore A10's - really no major/noticeable difference between the two. Time will tell if Soundcore have capable long-life batteries - hopefully being an Anker company they have the technology. Finally - these are down to £79 - so you can't go wrong. BTW - turning the A10 alarm off gives you an extra 20% battery life, and keeping the volume at 50% ish really will make the battery last longer - 10 hours is definitely possible.
Review: Has flaws - EDIT I had to revisit this review, at first they were all good but now they are next to useless, if they actually work they last 4 hours at best, they will randomly turn off, the left bud will just turn off, sometimes within 10 mins of turning on. Trying to get them to work straight out of the case is problematic. You find yourself constantly putting them back in the case to get the buds to sync up to each other. I managed to find another pair of Bose Sleepbuds 2 and realise what I was missing and that was reliable sleepbuds that actually last all night and just work out of the case. If you want a pair of sleepbuds that work and are reliable and last longer than 4 hours, don’t choose the soundcore, very disappointed First off I would like to point out these are not as good as the Bose Sleepbuds 2 and if they hadn’t been discontinued I would of kept them. I purchased these as my Bose failed, they do work (sort of), I read the usual reviews about battery life etc, there are some extreme caveats if you want decent battery life. Anker recommend 50% volume, if you have a partner who snores like mine, trust me that won’t cut it, with the volume cranked up, I could still hear my partner, I have played around with the various ear buds supplied but they are not brilliant at shielding noise, I never had this problem with the Bose. What they don’t tell you is if you have the volume up and Bluetooth on then you will get 4-5 hours at most. It took me a while to work out that I had to disconnect the Bluetooth from my phone, once I did this I finally get some decent time out of them. They are comfy and suitable for side sleepers, that said the controls are a bit clunky and you can get sleepbuds randomly turning off. Uploading new sounds can be painful, I had an issue uploading a new sound which took me over 30 minutes to resolve. I am giving them 3 which is generous, it would of been lower if I hadn’t finally worked out that disconnecting the Bluetooth extended the battery. I have to be honest, if Bose release sleepbuds 3 then I am swapping without hesitation.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do Sleep A10 earbuds support ANC? Can I use Sleep A10 earbuds to make a call?**
A: No, these earbuds don't support ANC, but they use a 4-point passive noise masking system to block out external noises. You can't use them to make a call as they do not have microphones due to their small size.

**Q: How can I make the battery last longer?**
A: To extend the usage time, keep the volume at 50%, put them in Sleep mode, disable smart volume control, close background apps, ensure your phone and earbuds are connected, and update them to the latest firmware version.

**Q: How do I choose the most suitable ear tips and ear wings?**
A: - We recommend that you start with size M ear tips and ear wings. - If the earbuds are too deep in your ears, it may affect the Bluetooth connection. If you experience connection issues, please replace the ear tips and wings with larger ones.

**Q: How do I listen to white noise?**
A: Please use the soundcore app to download white noise in Music mode first. Then, you can listen to white noise in Sleep mode.

**Q: How do I adjust the volume of white noise in Sleep mode?**
A: You can only adjust the volume of white noise via the soundcore app when the earbuds are in Sleep mode.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as a Bose Sleepbuds Alternative
*by M***S on 22 April 2023*

For light sleepers, Bose's Sleepbuds and Sleepbuds 2 were game-changers. Noise masking actually works in blocking out things like loud snoring etc meaning I was able to sleep longer and deeper than I had in years. My Sleepbuds 2 stopped working and I was disappointed to see that Bose has discontinued Sleepbuds, meaning I needed to find something else (at least until the warranty exchange gets here). If you're in the same position, this is a good replacement product. The shape of the buds isn't quite as comfortable while sleeping but it didn't bother me too much. I initially found battery life to be far weaker but you need to ensure you're in the proper sleep mode and I found that the auto volume adjustment also saved power. I could get about 10 hours from Sleepbuds, here you're looking at about eight-ish max. In some ways, this is superior to Sleepbuds. The app is better, actually tracking sleep quality in a way that the Bose product did not. Seems reasonably accurate. The choice of sounds is wider though not necessarily better. However, the 'snoring attenuation' sounds certainly do the job in masking anything and everything - which is important as I'm pretty sure max volume is quieter than Sleepbuds. The biggest advantages over Bose Sleepbuds are that you can actually use them as normal Bluetooth earbuds - and the fact that they are massively cheaper. I am expecting Bose to replace my Sleepbuds within a few weeks but to be honest, these do seem to work just as well overall, so they are well worth considering. If you are a light sleeper, or your partner is a heavy snorer and you never discovered Sleepbuds, I'd also highly recommend checking these out. They are (relatively) expensive but turn out to be priceless when quality of sleep rises so dramatically.
