Travel router
I recently had the pleasure of using the GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX) Small Portable Wifi 6 Router, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. This compact device is a powerhouse when it comes to delivering high-speed, reliable internet connectivity on the go. First and foremost, the Wifi 6 technology is a game-changer. It offers faster speeds and greater capacity, making it perfect for streaming, gaming, and handling multiple devices simultaneously without a hitch. I noticed a significant improvement in the performance and range compared to my previous portable routers. Setting up the GL-MT3000 was a breeze. The user-friendly interface and clear instructions made the process quick and painless. Within minutes, I had a secure and stable internet connection. The router’s compact size is another major advantage, fitting easily into my bag and making it an ideal travel companion. What sets the Beryl AX apart is its impressive feature set. It includes robust security options, such as VPN support and advanced encryption, ensuring that my data remains safe and private no matter where I am. The ability to switch between different modes, like router, repeater, and access point, adds to its versatility. In conclusion, the GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX) Small Portable Wifi 6 Router is a must-have for anyone in need of a reliable, high-performance portable router. Its combination of speed, security, and ease of use makes it an excellent investment. Highly recommended!

Reliable and light weight easy to use
Now this little guy .... I LOVE IT !!!!!!! :D its extremely fast and hassle free , im also using a battery pack to power it when I travel or when the power is out , and oooohhhh the best part is the built in add blocker and security features , literally its advanced but if you dont know much its ok just turn it on and if you know whats what then well your free to customize it , NOW I DO SUGGEST !!! getting the carer case thingy with it, I regret not adding it , but yeah awesome awesome product ,best part is the fact when going to visit someone then I dont need to connect to their network with their password, just ask to plug in and whalla my configs are there and everything works ( Then they wana know where i got it and they also want one :D ) oh and yeah this little guy is powerful the distance it gives is simply amazing and it works with everything so compatibility is good and its small enough that I take it everywhere I travel

Just Impressive!
I couldn't be happier with this router. Despite its compact size, this little router packs an impressive amount of functionality like PPPoE with VLAN tagging with clean admin interface without even needing to touch OpenWRT/LuCI, built-in WireGuard and OpenVPN server/client, Encrypted DNS over TLS, custom local hostnames, port forwarding, and a solid firewall. The GL.iNet admin panel v4.x has matured enormously and handles most advanced configurations through a simple and intuitive UI. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a proper full feature router without the complexity. The only downside is having two ETH ports (WAN+LAN). Maybe adding one more ETH port would make it closer to perfection.

best all rounder, customisable and rock-stable router out there
I bought this to extend the range of my ISP-supplied modem/wireless router, and to act as a wired repeater for one of my ethernet-only devices. Oh my, I did not anticipate falling in love! This is what a router should be. Compact, good price, and open firmware! It is easy to configure, although I did run into some hurdles with trying to connect it to my main router wirelessly - luckily with the combination of log files and ChatGPT I was able to figure out what the issue was! So far it is rock-stable, and easy to configure otherwise, whether you need it for VPN, TOR, or any other solution you can cook up! This satisfies my dream of a device being well-supported, easily and fully customizable, high quality and being stable, without needing to go down into the weeds too much, but actually letting you to do that if you're so inclined. The small size makes this an especially good contender for portability, as if I needed it on the go, I could easily chuck this in my backpack or even pocket it!

versatile WiFi AP
GL.iNet GL-MT3000 WiFI router ======================= This was a close call between the GL-MT3000 and GL-AXT1800. Both are very similar but the other is an older model, boasts 3 LAN ports, slower RAM and cache but supports more clients. In the end I opted for this newer model which also runs OpenVPN faster than the older model (although the older model runs WireGuard much faster). Setting up the hub was easy, but I kept hitting odd problems - after setting up either via LAN or off the home WiFi (for testing) the connected devices worked perfectly but navigating to the hub's admin portal it would say no internet access, as well as the flashing blue led on its front case. But whilst saying that, all devices I connected straight to the WiFi hub, the internet access works just fine(!) it just reports no internet access every now and again within the hubs admin portal. It may possibly be down to my home TPLink network switch which is load balanced over ADSL and Cable. Nord vpn *doesnt* provide WireGuard config for routers, however the Nord Windows client (trying the VPN directly on a single pc on the lan), does use WireGuard within its program. In the Windows Nord VPN client you can specify the country but not between Open VPN/WireGuard, but I noticed it installs drivers for NordLynx which it uses for WireGuard. On the WiFI router WireGuard is only directly supported on the hub for a Service provider called AzireVPN, although you can manually add a Wireguard config file for any other providers. I have since added Nord Open VPN to the hub since Nord does provide an open von config file for routers. You cant switch easily between different countries on the router, but what you can do is download the config selecting different countries having logged into Nord on a browser and just applying the different config file when you want to switch countries on the hubs admin portal. Not great, but it's much better to have a single router with a vpn connection than to have to add vpn clients on every client connecting to the router. The router also supports Nord open vpn directly, so don't need to download any config files - you enter the Nord username and password keys to directly access Nord within the admin portal, and can directly search/switch to a different country. Overall a great little hub. Because I have already connected most of our portable home devices to the router already, it's just a matter of setting up the hub with the new source when traveling - it's great having our devices not have to add a new connection to a new Wifi every time we go somewhere new. Also the devices recognise the faster router informing me of a faster connection to a WiFi 6 hotspot when connecting. I have yet to test this on an external Wifi hotspot where some hotels or hotspots need to register or login before internet access is granted, but so far Wifi and LAN tethering works well. At home, I'm still testing this WiFi router and it is left on 24/7 tethering onto our home WiFi and it gets a little warm, but no problem concurrently streaming to different clients that are connected to it. It doesn't come with a case, but at such a small size, I expect it shouldn't be too hard to find a small generic camera case for it. Currently selling for 101.90

Suberb product, superb service
Rather unfortunately, my router came with a damaged USB-A port. After contacting support, they immediately replaced it without any issue. Its more than that though, they were fast and efficent, and extremely polite and friendly. So, despite having a problem they have made a lasting impression and as a result I would not only buy from them again, I would recommend them. The router itself is impressive. Most travel routers suffer from poor performance which is frustrating to say the least and in my opinion this day in age just an attempt to keep things cheap especially when you consider that we have had more powerful Raspberry Pi for quite some time now. This is just not true with this router which is a demonstration on how to do things right; it has a generous processor and good amount of RAM meaning it can keep up with not only being a router but also performing the various security measures we have come to expect such as VPN. On top of this it is USB-C powered meaning it really is easy to power whenever and wherever you are in the world. I can run mine from a battery pack even which while I a recognise there are other routers on the market with built in batteries they make compromises to keep things small such as tiny batteries with wild claims on their usage times and underpowered processors that mean you are forever waiting. The wireless works well and has a good range for a unit so small and light. Its also fast and keeps up with most network speeds. I initially tested it on my home network and performing a speed test while using it literally made little to no difference than when using my home network directly. Perhaps just as imporant as the speed is the latency, it is low - maybe not quite professional gamer low but blimey its close and for me at least, I could game happily on it. Trouble is, most networks you meet while travelling which be the biggest issue, not this router! I use this router with an unlocked K5161Z 4G dongle from Vodaphone (which they sell on UK's Amazon) which tethers directly to the router's USB-A. NOTE: If you patch the dongle it takes a long while before it finishes - I thought I have either bricked mine or that the router was no longer able to connect to it and it was more fluke that it connected in the first place. Luckily after a lot of patients it sprang back to life, I would say a good 10 minutes worth of patients too! Normally (outside of firmware updates), it connects very quickly. Also, I tried a Huawei E3372-325 with it which does NOT work. Very impressive and a good evolutionary step in the right direction for GL.iNet! Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I only hope it helps.

Maybe the best travel router
Super hand travel router. If you do a lot of travelling it can make connecting multiple devices to the WiFi super easy. You can connect this router to a network and the connect your devices to the router. It has strong wireless connections for a decent size. Good value. Some powerful pro-Sumer tools too. I wouldn’t recommend this for a home setup, there are better options for that but anyone looking for a travel router this is the one

Faulty on arrival
Unfortunately this didn’t work when it arrived and appeared to be completely dead on arrival. Tried different plugs and cables but couldn’t get it to power on at all. It looks well made and the features seemed good, which is disappointing as I bought it for travelling. Could have just been a faulty unit, but not a great first experience

Best WiFi router I've ever seen, excellent build quality, rock stable and so much features !
Best router I've ever seen !! Small and very smart, based on OpenWRT with proprietary management interface. Very easy to use, can do everything, even WireGuard VPN using GL.iNet DDNS service ! Setup takes 2 minutes and it just works. Very stable, rather power efficient (doesn't heat much, never heard the fan spinning). It can even share a mobile phone connection to all WiFi users, just by connecting the phone USB cable to the front port and enable tethering. Love it ! Works perfectly as router, extender, VPN tunneling, with AdGuard, etc. For geeks, it can be customized with huge list of plug-ins. I work as a computer engineer since more than 30 years and believe me, this little all-in-one router is a gem !

Bardzo pozytywnie mnie zaskoczył. Super oprogramowanie w urządzeniu. Mnie najbardziej zależało na VPN - jest elastyczne w konfiguracji.

A Must-Have for Frequent Travellers – Super Handy Wireless Travel Router
I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, but I felt it was worth commenting on this particular item – the wireless travel router. I haven’t explored many of the advanced features (like VPN or file sharing), but for my needs, this device has been near perfect. I’ve been travelling between hotels and Airbnbs lately, and I use it as a bridge for the internet provided at each place. The big win for me is being able to set my WiFi name and password to match what I use at home, so all my devices connect automatically without needing to reconfigure them at every stop. Whether it’s my laptop, iPad, or phone, everything just works the moment I arrive and plug it in. It handles hotel login portals easily, whether it’s through a username and password or a web-based login. It also works fine with cabled internet connections. The signal range is much better than I expected for such a compact device. It’s whisper quiet, uses minimal power, and the user interface is simple and straightforward. It makes hopping from one accommodation to another much less painful from a tech setup perspective. If I had one minor complaint, it's that I can't find an option to view the total data usage across all connected devices. You can see individual device usage, which is helpful, but I’d love to be able to reset and track total data used per location – especially when dealing with limited WiFi quotas in Airbnbs or hotels. That aside, I’d highly recommend this device for anyone who travels regularly with multiple devices. It’s affordable, efficient, and genuinely makes life on the road a lot easier.
