They came in a 12 pack and for the price, I figured I'd give them a shot. Easy to install, I used a 2" hole saw and drilled the holes I needed. Use a quality hole saw, some of the cheaper ones tend to make the holes larger than specified size. Also, drilling slower and maintaining the correct angle will help the hole be true to size. If you find your grommet is too loose, a few wraps of duct tape will snug it up quickly while allowing it to still be removed in the future if needed. For my project, I needed these to be painted in different colors. I bought some brand name spray paint made specifically for painting plastics. I painted a few without using primer, when fully dried, the paint could still be scratched off fairly easy so I painted the next batch using primer first, made a big difference and I feel the paint will be much more durable. The price at the time of review was $7.18, making the cost of each grommet about .60 each, a pretty good price for the quality of the grommet. Review: Works great but I didn't use them for a desk - A squirrel recently took up residence in our attic. I had no idea how it got there and upon further inspection I figured out it must've been thru the holes along the top of the house siding. There are 2 in holes across the top in the carport. Some have secure screens while 10 others had the screens missing. I thought about rubber plugs but that would restrict airflow and we're a bit pricey for 10. So I saw these and decided to give them a try. They worked perfect and still allow airflow. Two of them were a little loose but I thought that might be an issue so I just wrapped electrical tape around them to had some tightness and they did the trick. Update: Squirrel 2, Me 0 Squirrel ate through 2 of them to get back in. so while they do fit the hole a squirrel will eat it for lunch (which this one did while we were away for the day). Update 2: Squirrel 2, Me 1 1 is all I need for the win. Squirrel is now dearly departed and a professional covered the holes.

Not a press fit.
The grommets I received measured 1.975 -0/+0.003 inch (50.165 mm) under the rim. A 50 mm hole saw is probably the correct size. A 2-inch hole saw yields a sloppy fit. I bored a piece of scrap to yield the fit desired and made a pattern to route tight fitting holes. The grommets are fairly robust. The caps have a bit of flashing in the cord path to remove, but fit the grommet snugly. Overall, I'd purchase again.

... a butcher block desk for my boss and she loved it. I cut out the hole for printer ...
I made a butcher block desk for my boss and she loved it . I cut out the hole for printer and computer wires and used my last grommet. She wanted another hole cut for her Laptop so I needed to get another one ,but as I always do I looked online and found the great price you had on your grommets. Thanks because now I have enough for future jobs.

Loose fit
Advertised as 2โ grommets, these actually measure 1-31/32โ. That small 1/32โ makes a big difference. The grommets are loose in a 2โ hole and wonโt fit into a 1-15/16โ hole. I am able to wrap electrical tape and about 3 layers makes a decent tight fit. Little things make a big difference and this little discrepancy. Other than the size issue these items function as advertised and are far superior to just an unadorned hole.

PERFECT
while id love to find some "caps" without holes for these, for my project they were as close as i could get to what i needed, made from ABS plastic so easily modified or added to if you need the only real issue is finding a hole saw that drills a hole EXACTLY this size, try grinding one down

50mm, NOT 2 inch
They seem to be 50mm, which is about 1 15/16, not 2" If you use a 2" hole saw, they will fit OK, but not very tight. If you NEED tight, such as frequent yanking on cords, then 2 wraps of cheap plastic electrical tape enlarges it enough to make a tight fit.

simple and effective
i ordered these for a custom desk i was building for my home office. they require a simple 2" hole saw cut and they drop right in. You can pull the top piece out and install the ring below it. I actually glued these in place so they didn't move or spin. They look and work like they should.
