TLBTEK Backlight Keyboard Replacement Compatible with HP Elitebook 1040 G4 1050 G1 and EliteBook X360 1040 G5 1040 G6 Series Laptop

I bought this with high hopes but this keyboard does NOT COME WITH BACKLIGHT KEYBOARD RIBBON,after assessing the keyboard it doesn't comes with it, however it does work but NOT A BACKLIGHT KEYBOARD.

Despite the description, this keyboard is NOT compatible to the HP EliteBook X360 1040 G5 series laptops.

Contrary to what the description says, this keyboard will NOT fit in a HP Elitebook 1040 G4 laptop as is. Either the keyboard or the top cover of the laptop will need to be modified in order for it to fit. (see pictures). The top circled area is the replacement keyboard and the one underneath it is the OEM keyboard. The lower circled area shows the original keyboard and the tab on the laptop top cover the keyboard must fit around. Picture clearly shows the replacement does not have a large enough notch to fit properly. I had to take my Dremel tool with a grinding bit to make the notch larger so it would fit. Then I found that the all of the keyboard screw holes do not align with the top cover. There were 8 screws that would not line up with the holes no matter what I tried. So while this keyboard will is compatible and does work in the 1040 G4 Elitebook, I only rate it 3 stars due to the fact I had to modify it to even fit to begin with.
